Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 2 Comparing cultures and places.
1. Activity Description
At the end of this activity the student will be able to deal with most situations that
may arise while traveling in contexts where the language is spoken, by describing a
famous place.
Individually:
2. Describe the place you selected in the following decades: 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s,
2000s. point out differences and similarities. Compare them with the current
times. Eg.

Your opinion of the place (Minimum 250 words).
3. Make a small television advertisement, where a travel agency promotes the place
you picked. You need to appear talking in the video. Include images, music,
attractive and creative elements. The video must be minimum three minutes long.
4. Speaking sessions.
Register your data in the link that is going to be sent inbox and participate in the
speaking sessions by skype.

5. As a group create a brochure with the places and just the descriptions of 2020,
include comparisons and highlight the best elements of each place.

In the Initial Information Environment, you must: check the agenda, interact in the
web conferences, and participate actively in the forum.
In the Learning Environment, you must: read the contents of the unit 1.
In the Evaluation Environment, you must: Upload your final work Task 2: Comparing
cultures and places.

Just one member of the group must upload a PDF document in the evaluative
environment with the following content:
1. Cover page
2. The description of the place through the decades of each student.
3. The links with the TV advertisement video of each student.
4. The brochure made by the group.
5. References.
• All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.
• In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.
• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.
• Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.
Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
