Sperm x and Y

All of creatures need to reproduce themselves to keep sustainability of their species. There
are some ways to reproduce, one of them is using fertilize in female body (especially in fallopian
tube). One of some creatures in this world that use fertilizing in vitro is human. Fertilizing happens
when sperm x/y merges with ovum. The sperm fertilizes the ovum to determine the gender of the
baby. These sperm share similarities, such as the anatomy structure of the sperm ‘s body and the
number of chromosomes contained. However, despite these minor similarities, the differences
between the sperm x and sperm y are more significant. Some of these dissimilarities include their
swimming speed and their enjoying of the acidity’s female tractus. Nevertheless, sperm x and sperm
y are significantly different in the strength to survive in female genitalia organ when there are
waiting the ovulation, the kind of genosome (sexual chromosome) and the shape of their head.

The most obvious difference is their strength to survive in female genitalia tractus (fallopian
tube). When they are waiting the ovulation, sperm x has more long life than sperm y. This is directly
proportional to the speed of their moving toward to the place of ovum where they wait to be
fertilized (in the fallopian tube). The reason why sperm x last longer is because when they are
swimming, they tend to be slower (more relaxed) so that their energy doesn’t run out quickly. Their
speed of swimming is also influenced by the anatomical shape of their head which is larger inclined,
round and fat. Their structure makes them more difficult to swim faster. In contrast to sperm x
which can live longer while they are waiting for the ovum, sperm y dies faster. This is due to their
speed. Their energy is used up to swim quickly. They won’t have no more energy to wait for the
ovum to come out from the ovary if the sperm has been tracked by a male creature before the
ovulation time of the female. This is also influenced by the shape of their head which is taper and
smaller so it is lighter and makes it easier to swim faster.

Other differences among them are their kind of the genosome . as the name, the x
chromosome has a type x genosome. For the number of chromosome which is 23 and for types
namely haploid and x genotype, the chromosome type of x sperm cells is 23, x. this 23 x
chromosome, if it meets an ovum that has a 23 x chromosome, it will be 46 xx which will produce a
phenotype of a daughter with diploid chromosome type meaning it contains a mixture of traits
originating from the mother and father respectively 50% and 50%. Like the name also, the y
chromosome has the y genosome has the y genosome, type for the same number of chromosome
that is 23 and the same type of chromosome is similar, haploid. The chromosome 23 y if fertilizing an
ovum which has a chromosome type 23 x it will produce a child who has a diploid chromosome
number that is 46 xy and will produce phenotypes of male offspring.

The last differences that will be described is the shape of their head which is has called in the
top of this paragraph. It has been mentioned that sperm x has a head size that is bigger than sperm
y. sperm x’s head characteristic is fatter head while sperm y is thinner. This can be analogous to like
a fast train in japan which has a sharp head. It is also found in the sperm with a head shape like that
so it is possible to go faster than sperm x. Beside these reasons, there are other reasons why sperm x
is bigger in head size. It turns out that the chromatin component contained by sperm x contains
more chromatin in its head, resulting in the size of the head of sperm x is larger. Sperm y are
generally smaller in head size because they are shorter, lighter, and contains fewer DNA. Because of
the higher chromatin content that is why if be centrifuged, spermatozoa x forms sediments faster
than spermatozoa y.
We can conclude that sperm x/y have some similarities(anatomy structure of the sperm ‘s
body and the number of chromosomes contained) and some dissimilarities such as their strength to
survive in female genitalia tractus (Sperm x has longer life to wait ovulation), the kind of genosome
(Sperm x has 23 x meanwhile sperm y has 23 y), and the shape of the head ( the sperm’s head is
fatter and bigger meanwhile sperm y has lighter and shorter head) The differences and similarities
that have been explained above it seems like when I was told to be a sperm, I want to be a sperm x
like I used to when I haven’t met the egg from my mother. This is because I prefer to survive longer
than go faster to reach the goal but have short age. And that is proven because by waiting longer I
can fertilize my mother’s egg cell and be born as a human in the world. Life and movement of sperm
x also taught me that what will happen will definitely happen and everything that happens must be
God’s intervention. So, whatever God gives you, be thankful for them.
