PAMA Meeting on Participation in PAPS Show 2017

Discussed Points:

Mr. Shafique:

 We will only participate if industry is participating, and if no OEM is going to take part in PAPS
show then we wont
 We recommend to conduct show once a year and that too in Islamabad because Karachi and
Lahore isn’t an effective choice. We can conduct it in NUST Islamabad
 He mentioned Saquib Sb’s point that PAMA should be working as a one united body
 He said space of stalls and pricing should be equal for all the OEMs participating in PAPS show
 Advertisement placement and media presence should be equal for all the OEMs as we will be
representing PAMA and not as individual OEM.
 Either all OEMs representative will do speeches or else nobody will be giving it. All PAMA
members should be given equal treatment
 Paapam should notify PAMA regarding all the speeches which will be given to officials and
should have equal consensus
 Any government official who is coming to PAPS show should understand the industry and
supports the work of OEMs and thus we recommend secretary MOIP
 All the OEMs should be a part of side discussions which are done during the show
 PAAPAM had discussion with Chinese consulate where Chinese OEMs requested them to give
space in their show, and therefore we have received information from indirect sources that if
local OEMs wont participate, Chinese OEMs will be given chance for the show

Mr. Razi-ur-Rahman

 In order to work fairly, we should be a part of all management committees, organizing

committees, decision making
 We can’t participate every year, this program should be done after every two years.
 There’s no benefit of this show and just organizing in Karachi and Lahore alternatively doesn’t
create any value .

Mr. Tariq

 When we negotiate with PAAPAM we should be doing from PAMA platform as one body and not
as individual OEMs
 Whosoever is coming as a chief guest, we should be informed about it and our suggestions
should be taken
  The program sequence should be shared and our feedback is taken seriously while our active
participation should be ensured

Concluding Points:

PAMA and PAAPAM joint meeting will be called after discussing with PAMA members in the next week
tentatively in order to discuss the terms of the show.
