Course Title TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MARKETING

Course Prerequisite None
Course Description Students develop actual marketing campaign for business within hospitality industry.
Emphasis on analysis of market, competition and product, planning financial budget and
developing short term and long range strategies to achieve desired profit through effective
advertising sales and public relationship plan.
Learning Outcomes
Evaluate the Hospitality industry, market segmentation and determine market
positioning
Apply key marketing methodologies as they relate to sales, customer service,
advertising and public relations
Identify and explain the marketing methodologies related to packaging, collateral
material and promotional support
Effectively utilize technology to address consumer needs as they relate to electronic
marketing
Apply pricing strategies and rates to maximize revenues
Develop marketing plans and budgets to maximize limited resources
Assess the legal environment as it relates to marketing, research and operations
Identify how the historical forces have shaped marketing in the modern hospitality
industry

Course Policies 1. Students are required to participate in all virtual class discussions and activities introduced in
the class.
2. Students must comply with the number of hours they should attend in the virtual class.
Students must attend the class regularly and on time.
3. Students are required to submit all the requirements given to them before the end of the
semester.
4. Students should pass the written tests with minimum of 75% proficiency.
5 Students must observe virtual class etiquettes at all times.
