STAGES OF DIGITAL IMAGING

a format that the computer understand. can be putted in a
scanner

image manipulation is the task of altering enhancing, combining

and analyzing digital images

output is the result; it can be printed on paper

SCANNING IMAGES
- a scanner peripheral device that reads printed text and
pictures through the use of light and converse the result
into a digital image

DIFFERENT SCANNERS
- drum scanner is the largest, most expensive and mot advance
scaner. works with a rotating drum that scans the object with an
intricate arrays of sensors
- flatbed scanner is the smaller than a drum scanner. it produces
meduim quality images
- handheld scanner is the manual scanning; move over the object
that needs to be scanned; used in scanning BARCODES
- photo scanner used for scanning photo; similar to flatbed
scanner and produces meduim quality images
- film scanner used in scanning photgraphic films directly
into a computer
- sheet-fed scanner; scanning several documents at the same time
and it scans the both sides of document
- portable scanner can be carried aywhere. mostly used in scanning documents
- digital camera memory device to capture images
