I. INTRODUCTION

We, as students, have encountered various situations whenever we're not in the
safety of our own home. Everyone may experience events, that may be a threat to their
safety and/or life. In this day and age, everyone is vulnerable to threats. That's why
protection and safeness for oneself whenever and wherever is not guaranteed. With
this, our product PROTECTION; PERFECTION is being showcased. It is a self-defense
tool that helps an individual prepare for dangerous and unforeseen circumstances. Self-
defense is important as it gives someone the ability to protect oneself and overcome an
attacker, most especially for women and students.     
Protection; Perfection is made to protect women ages 12-25 around dangerous
individuals anytime and anywhere. It is a compact 6-inch stick with refillable 45ml of
pepper spray at the top, a mini taser at the bottom, a personal alarm, and a swiss knife
at both sides. We are planning to expand Protection; Perfection slowly in the market to
be known and achieve our vision and mission. In the future, we hope to release different
variations of Protection; Perfection as we plan to make Protection; Perfection as
convenient and as travel friendly as possible. Furthermore, we plan to add an instant
button to alert the police nearby whenever there is someone in danger and add a stun
gun to make sure our consumers can protect themselves even at a distance.

Towards the development of society, Protection; Perfection aims to persevere


the sense of security at all places. Used as a tool for self-defense, Protection;
Perfection cares to ensure people's safety and well-being. Its convenience shall be
handy enough to utilize protection against any life-threatening acts.

For the Quality of our product, we prioritize function over aesthetics. We are also
Passionate in Serving and Protecting, Women in our society, and not to be ignorant
to harassment and rape culture. We Promote Awareness and give importance to
showing the people the societal issues that we are facing today and that has been
ignored for decades. We are Persistent in constantly learning to improve Protection;
Perfection and our ways to educate people about societal issues against women. We
set a culture of Honesty and Trust to our customers and employees. We Commit to
Customer's needs, inputs, and suggestions for the benefit of all. Lastly, we practice
Humility, reminding ourselves to not focus on fame and earnings. Be a leader and
initiate leadership inside and outside our profession. We Work as a team to improve
our services with different ideas and point of views. We Live the golden role. We
Listen and communicate with our customers, employees and the women in the
community. Lastly, we Exceed costumer expectation with our product and its
relevance to today’s situation.

II. Organizational Aspect

The group has decided to have many individuals share ownership to a single
business. The owners have legal agreements that sets forth how decisions will be
made, profits will be shared, and disputes will be resolved. The said business is in the
form of Partnership and will be owned and operated among Damandaman Grecille,
Gloria Carlos and Domingo Shaila as the Financial Manager, Quelnat Julianna, and
Ignacio Althea as the Operational Manager, Jessalva Jy-Anne and Alipio Jaymie as
the Marketing Manager. As a start-up, we will be the first one who will manage this
business.

III. Marketing Aspect

The target market of the business is primarily people ages 16 to 25


years old because they are most likely to be abducted. Students because
they are also vulnerable especially when going home late due to
performance tasks, projects, etc. Lastly, the general public because
danger is everywhere, and we should not be complacent regardless of
gender and status in life. Our product is suitable for everyone because it
is a multifunctional tool that is used for self-defense having our product,
one should feel safe when outside. It has different features like taser,
pepper spray, loud alarm, swiss knives and a button to notify your
location to your emergency contacts. This is very beneficial nowadays
because of the societal issues that are occurring in our country, everyone
may experience events that may be a threat to their life and safety. Our
product will provide them the security they needed and would help them
prepare for dangerous and unforeseen circumstances.

The estimated market size of our business would be approximately


2,000 since there’s a total population of 8,000 in our market segment and
we assumed that with that number we will have 20% potential buyers of
it. Our market segment would focus more on our consumers
demographics. As we discussed earlier the target market is people ages
16-25, it will consist of students, adults, workers and passersby, by the
use of this it would be easy for us organize and categorized the needs of
our consumers.

3.2 Competitors Analysis

Protection; Perfection does not directly have any competitors with the exact kind
of high-end product but rather the separate sales of each features the device has
(alarm, taser, pepper spray, knife,). By that being said, the company could take
advantage of the fact that there is no well-known brand that produces the same
product as Protection; Perfection do— thus, there should be no immense difficulties
in competing for the market.

3.3 Marketing Mix

Protection; Perfection is a unique multi-use and self-defense device that


helps you all throughout the night and day. Its use and function include a tazer,
mini swiss army knife, a pre-built alarm, whenever you feel in danger wherever
you are. But the purchase from our product will also benefit our workers and
organizations that we have teamed up with to raise awareness and educate
people about these types of societal issues.

We believe that everyone should able to feel safe and be able to defend
themselves during times like this, s therefore, we have been able to also match
the product with the same aesthetics and design. Its body color can be
customizable upon inquiry and requests from the costumers. We will be also
including discount coupon for the first 10 purchase so that they can share them
to their friends or family.

Place

Protection; Perfection will use a direct distribution channel which means


the products are from the Manufacturer/Producer and directs to the consumers in
which allows us to build relationships with customers, get our products to
consumers faster, respond to product performance and customer feedback, and
distinguish our company from the competition. As for the storage space, we will
have a space in Sampaloc, Manila with a lease of about 4,000 a month in a
facility of about 75 square meters. We chose this location for the reasons that
this is accessible 24/7 and uses a modern security system that will guarantee the
safety of Protection; Perfection.

Protection; Perfection will be available in a space in Sampaloc, Manila


which is accessible for both the producers and consumers because it will be easy
to find the store since it has exposures considering that Sampaloc, Manila has a
lot of people that can be our potential consumer. The place of Protection;
Perfection is an opportunity to tap in shelf displays, racks, store interior,
ambiance, decoration, background music, all sorts of these aspects lure the
consumer and they want to spend more time there. They will also spread good
word-of-mouth that will encourage more consumers to join in further.
Promotion

Advertising and Promotion


Protection; Perfection will be promoted through online
advertisements. We will make a 30-second video that shows our
target market on what is the importance of Protection; Perfection,
how it will help them feel secure, and other details on how can they
access the product. This video will be shown in a youtube ad that
has a cost-per-view of 0.48 – 1.45 Philippine peso. We also plan on
posting promoted poster ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
in which can cost an estimated 471.46 Philippine pesos.

Sales promotion
-e.g., build inquires, increase product trial, encourage repurchase,
build traffic, support other promotions.
For our sales promotion, we will be conducting Social media
giveaways, monthly SALE’s, and discounts for students. For our
social media giveaway, we will be conducting a contest where we
will be requesting the audience to post and raise awareness on
rape culture and its effect of society through creative means and we
will be picking a winner depending on the creativeness and
originality of the content. The winners will be receiving one free
personalized Protection; Perfection from us and the runner ups will
be receiving discount and gift cards.

Personal selling

increase product trial, encourage purchase/repurchase, build traffic,
support other promotions.
Personal selling is used when demonstration is needed for
complicated products. Based on the functions and features of our
product, and due to the pandemic, we will be conducting online
tutorials on how to use our product. Introductions of the product and
Instructions will be also included in our packaging for consumers
who does not have internet connection and can easily learn its
features.

Public relations
We strive to create products that are the best for the people. And
we continue to make progress towards the unforced circumstances
situations. Like making the protection; perfection self-defense tool
for everyone. Leading the industry in making our materials safer for
everyone. In every product we make, in every material’s we use,
our goal is to be safe every time that has unforced circumstances.

Direct Marketing
We can use online advertising by posting our products photos,
videos or creating an advertisement by showing the purpose of the
protection; perfection self-defense tool. Also making a webpage for
our company so that they can communicate us easily.

IV. Operations Aspect

Facility Location
The production facility of Protection; Perfection is located at a commercial
space in Sampaloc, Manila. The allocated space was intended to be beneficial
due to being in a strategic location where both delivery of raw materials and
products are convenient and practical, accessibility to the mass is present, and
the product is being showcased to the common. With having the lease of ₱4,000
a month in an approximately 75 square meters facility, the budget seems
reasonable.

The suggested facility is organized into four spaces. The main lobby is
where the few products are being showcased and people are being welcomed
and assisted; the only place in the facility that is open to public. The space of the
staffs, processing of documents, and meetings are held in the office area. Both
raw materials and produced products are in the supplies area, and the production
of the Protection; Perfection is located at the assembling space.
Operations Requirements
The product PROTECTION; PERFECTION is a self-defense product that an
individual ca use to protect themselves. The whole product itself is made by
resin. Placing the necessary parts that are needed like the taser, pepper spray,
alarm and speaker. Making sure that there is enough space for the speaker and
alarm. The mold is the filled with resin. Afterwards, the product shall be left to dry
for at least 72 hours. After drying, the product shall undergo checking for any
defects. The product shall be stored in a carboard box, wrapped with japanese
paper. Materials for this product shall undergo a thorough inspection before
proceeding with the product itself. Target unit is about 500-1000 units per month,
since the product usually takes about 3-4 days. This can also vary if such
situations arise like if a material fails on its first inspection and/or, if the product
itself has defects. If there will be potential challenges, like rush orders, we see to
it that there will be enough supplies, materials and workers that are ready for
unexpected situations.

These are the quality control measures that our business will implement to
ensure the quality and safety of our product:
A. INSPECTION OF RAW MATERIALS
The inspection of the quality of the raw materials is important
because the quality of the product itself is determined by the quality
of the raw materials that are used.

B. INSPECTION OF THE PRODUCT


In order to ensure the quality of the product itself, after putting
together the raw materials and manufacturing the product, it shall
undergo inspection for any defects, deformity, or fault.

C. TESTING OF THE PRODUCT


The product itself shall be tested for any malfunctions, especially
that PROTECTION; PERFECTION is a self-defense product. The
product shall undergo temperature and humidity testing, and other
different tests. This way the product can improve its quality.
Besides that, the parts of the product shall be tested for
malfunctions and defects.

D. RECORDS
Each and every raw material and manufactured product shall be
recorded. Thus, this can help us monitor how the quality of the
materials used and the products are doing.
Legal Requirements
I. SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC)
The first requirement would be to register the business with the Securities
and Exchange Commission (SEC), including the name of the business.

II. OBTAIN A BUSINESS PERMIT


After the registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission
(SEC), find a suitable location for the business and head to the local
government of the desired location and secure the business a business
and mayor’s permit. Make sure to check the requirements of the city or
municipality as this varies.

III. BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE (BIR)


After obtaining a permit from the local government, the business shall
register with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). As our business is a
partnership, we shall register with the Form 1903 for partnerships and
corporations. We also need to obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number
(TIN) from the Revenue District Office (RDO) within our desired location of
the business.
