MARKETING ASPECT

Direct and Indirect Competitors

Direct competitors are businesses that sell a product or service in the same category as

you. Lumos Nyctophile is first in the market and currently does not have direct competitors.

There are, however, other competitors known as indirect competitors. Indirect competitors are

businesses that sell a product or service in the same category as you, but it’s different enough to

act as an alternative for your product or service. Since Lumos Nyctophile does not have similar

products in the market, consumers are using lamps and Bluetooth speaker separately. Therefore,

companies such as Ace Hardware, Handyman and Bamboo Grove Furniture who sells lamps and

Bluetooth speakers are indirect competitors. Other consumers are also using Bluetooth speaker

with dim lights which can be found on online shops. Thus, online shops such as Lazada and

Shopee are also considered indirect competitors.

Marketing Strategy

Lumos Nyctophile chose its business location in Sta. Cruz, Manila where it can focus on

its main target consumers. The main marketing strategy of Lumos Nyctophile focuses on

students and young professionals within Manila City whose age are 18 years old and above.

Since Lumos Nyctophile is new, it prefers targeting non-users and prospect customers. These

type of people tends to be wise spender because their income is just enough to provide for their

basic wants and needs.

To cope with the current pandemic situation, Lumos Nyctophile registered their product

on online shops such as Shopee and Lazada to reach its costumers further. In terms of product
promotion online and to reach its target market faster, Lumos Nyctophile will have their own

Facebook and Instagram page where their product designs will be posted and can then be viewed

regularly by consumers via viewer boost. Lumos Nyctophile will also utilize the growing

industry of social media influencers and content creators by reaching out to them and giving

them product sponsorship in exchange of advertising and including a feedback of our product in

their content. Social media influencer and content creator such as Kookoo Vlogs who creates

video blogs about nature & preservation and interested in naturally-made products can be a

potential candidate for this product sponsorship. Celebrities such as Andy Eigenmann who

promotes naturally-made products can also be a potential candidate for the product sponsorship.

Lumos Nyctophile will also conduct online survey in order to obtain numerical data’s for

the demand and feedback of the product from its main target consumers.
