Experiment 1 Reaction time - preparation

Outline The experimenter drops a ruler between the fingers and thumb of the subject who has to
grip it as soon as he or she sees or feels it move. The speed of the subject's reaction is a function
of the distance the ruler falls before it is arrested

Prior knowledge None to conduct the experiment but a little knowledge of nervous pathways
and nervous conduction is needed to answer some of the questions.

Advance preparation and materials A half-metre ruler is all that is needed for this experiment
