the educational achievement of the sixth graders.” International Journal of

This study refers to the problem of the low science learning achievement of sixth
grade students in Yordania. The low science learning achievement of sixth grade students in
Yordania is due to the conventuonal teacher learning methods which tend to make students
less innovative in enriching new information. The new idea of the writer in his research is to
apply the 5 E’s Learning Cycle method in sixth grade science learning.
The method used in this study is an experimental research method with a sample of 80
students divided into two groups: (1) groups randomly selected as an experimental class with
a 5 E’s Learning Cycle method (2) the control group which was taught by the tradisional
method. The instrument used in this study is a science achievement test with material of
thermal construction, electrical conduction, magnetization, properties of iron, copper an
aluminium, natural changes, mixtures and solutions, shemical changes and properties of
acids, alkalis and salts consisting of 30 multiple choice. The Analysis used in this study is the
t-test with a significance level of 5%.
The result showed a significant difference between the science learning achievement
scores of sixth grade students in Yordania using the 5 E’s Learning Cycle method and
Traditional methods. This in shown by the writer statistical analysis using the t-test wiyh a
significant level of 5 % which is included in tabular form in the journal. The result of this
study are also reaffirmed in the discussion section where the writer re-explain the advantages
of the 5 E supported by the writer’s research results and the supporting theories that the writer
have listed.

Critical:
1. Introduction, the introduction in this journal is good if we seen from the several
supporting sources that have been listed. The writer has referred to the supporting
theory in the form of books and several supporting journals from previous research.
However, there is a slight deficiency where the writer doesn’t include valid
supporting data regarding the science learning achievement score of grade 6 student,
where this data is very important to be included in order to support the writer’s
opinion which states that the science learning achievement of grade 6 student in
Jordania is still realtively low.
2. Methodology, the methodology used is correct using the experimental method
because in this research the writer gave a special treatment and control over the
independent variables he used as well as observes the dependent variable to find
variations that arise frome the treatment given by the researcher. In othe words, the
writer wants to examine the effect of a particular tratment on the symptoms of a
certain groups compares to other groups using different treatments.
3. Result, the results obtained by the writer using the t-test with a significant level of 5
% are that there is a significant difference between the science learning achievement
scores of sixth grade students in Yordania using the 5 E’s Learning Cycle method and
Traditional methods. Writing research results in journals is good by including a
summary of the results of statistical analysis in table form. However, the results of
this writing would be better if the writer also incuded the average student learning
achievement after the research was carried out because this could provide a clearer
picture for the reader.
4. Discussion, the discussion in the journal by writer is still general in nature, this can be
seen from the writer only includes theory. In the discussion section, the writer should
explain the suitability of the proposed hypothesis with the existing theory. In writing
the discussion the writer san also explain the similarities and differences in the results
of the research obtained with the results of previous studies.
5. Reference, In general the writing of references in this journal has followed the correct
rules but there are a few mistakes when viewed from the rules for writing reference in
APA style. This can be seen from the absence of brackets in the writing of the year for
journal references.
