Suburban Surbiton gets kinky this Valentine’s with Masks & Basques

The home of ‘the Good Life’ will host the latest edition of Masks & Basques, a decadent night of
delightful debauchery for couples and singles on 11th February on Raven’s Ait Island.

Coinciding with the release of the latest ‘50 Shades of Grey’ film, Raven’s Ait will set the scene for a
masquerade ball featuring cabaret, burlesque, circus and live music.

“It’s an opportunity to do something different, something unique and see some amazing
performances under one roof. Also, hosting Masks and Basques on an island is exciting. It makes the
event that little bit more special,” said the event’s organiser, Aniela Zaba, Creative Director of
Creative Brain.

Previously held at the Rose Theatre in 2013, this glamourous event returns for a Valentine’s special.
The theme: ‘Lover’s Revenge’. And it’s a dish best served smoking hot!

Revellers can expect immersive performances, spectacular fire acts, charming cabaret, breath-taking
circus and stomping live bands!

Creative Brain has teamed up with the charity Love Kingston, who will be raising money on the night
through an interactive piece created for Masques & Basques. Masques & Basques is part of a series
of events held for ‘Love Kingston Day’ on the 14 th February.

Performers will include compere Michael Twaits, Cabaret Rouge, the best of burlesque Rock Hart
and festival favourite Forest of Fools amongst many others.

The event will run from 7.00 PM to 00.00 AM. Crossings to the island will begin from 6.00PM.

Tickets are £25 in advance and £30 on the door.
