Industrialization and Progressivism Project:

For this project you will be creating a brochure for what you believe is a model/ideal city. In this
chapter, we discussed the positive impacts and the issues that were happening during this time.
What you need to do for this project is address some of those issues in your model/ideal city.

For example: If your city has a super awesome, highly funded Fire Department, you should
talk about why your fire department is the way it is. "My fire department is this way because
of the amount of factory fires that occur."

You need to address AT LEAST 4 problems/solutions to problems in this project:

 Fire

 Water

 Working Conditions

 Robber Barons/Economic Problems

 Temperance/Prohibition

 Crime

 Pollution

 Moral Improvements—parks/recreation

 Etc.

- You should include (print or draw) 4 pictures reflecting your model city as well as descriptions
of what those pictures represent.

- Include why the solutions you have in your city make your city better.

Use what we learned to help you fix the problems in your city (Four goals of Progressivism
will come in handy)! You can also look back on the immigration chapter too! This needs to be
WELL DONE! This is in place OF YOUR TEST! Make it count!!!
