WEST GLACIER, M . (DEC. 7, 2020) ​ Glacier National Park has a variet of winter
activities for visitors to enjo . However, due to the park s location along the Continental Divide,
weather on Glacier s mountains can be unpredictable. During the winter, snowstorms can happen
within a manner of minutes or can slowl develop leading to much uncertaint about closures in
the park.

Glacier s cross-countr skiing and snowshoeing trails offer visitors the opportunit to see
picturesque scener without the crowds. Man options exist for all ages and abilities. For

Backcountr camping is open onl in certain designated areas of the park. Primitive camping at
Loop B of the Apgar Campground has opened for the season. No water is available and onl
vault toilets are in use. Reservations must be made three to seven da s in advance. If ou would
like to request a permit, call 406-888-7800 and press 5 to leave a call-back number. A ranger will
return our call within three workda s.

Glacier s lodging, restaurants, boating, horseback rides and bus tours have closed for the winter
season.

Man of the roads and trails in the park have closed for the winter season. For the most up to

Glacier National Park is 1,500 square miles of wilderness with over 700 miles of hiking trails.
The park was established in 1910 and is located at 64 Grinnell Drive, Glacier National Park
Headquarters, West Glacier, MT 59936.
