Introduction Start with playing an improv game as a class

Daily Reviews Review previous lesson through a quick game of kahoot.

Daily Objective Students will understand the origins of improv and be able
to successfully complete a scene in a small group.

Concept and Skill Development Improv is the base for scene creation and opening up in
and Application acting. Take notes on the origins of improv.

Guided Practice Discuss as a class the elements of a scene and play a


storytelling improv game.

Independent Practice Have students come up with a few expositions (who,


what, where) that they will share out loud.

Group Practice Get into small groups and start by playing an improv
game. Then begin to discuss the exposition of a scene
they will begin developing tomorrow.

Homework Research and find two plays that are based on improv, tell
me if you think improv is a good starting place for learning
acting and why or why not.

Closure Have students tell me what exposition is and give


examples. Have them give examples of improv games.
