IMPLEMENTING RULES AND
REGULATIONS OF THE BEEF CATTLE
BREEDER FARM ACCREDITATION
PROGRAM (BCBFAP)
Background
 The Department of Agriculture (DA)
is implementing the National Livestock
Program (NLP) to accelerate livestock
development and contribute to the
objectives of food security, increased
farmers’ income and people empowerment.
 A major component is the national genetic
resource improvement program aimed at
accelerating the production and distribution
of genetically superior animals and materials.
 In the cattle industry, the DA recognizes the
need to continuously ensure genetic
improvement. One strategy to attain this is
the propagation and distribution of
genetically improved quality breeders.
 To assure distribution of quality stocks, it is
necessary that the producing farms be duly
certified, accredited and promoted as beef
cattle breeders.
Objectives
1. To identify, accredit and promote beef cattle
farms with genetically improved quality
breeders;
2. To sustain the advanced status of the beef
cattle industry by ensuring availability and
wide distribution of good quality breeder
stocks even among small-hold farmers.
Criteria for Accreditation
The beef cattle breeder farm must:

Procedures for Accreditation
1. Submit accomplished application form to

Validity:
(BCBFAP)
Initial accreditation is valid for (two) 2 years; it
should be renewed on a yearly basis from
thereon.

Fees:

Application fee: ₱ 2000 + fuel for the

actual/ ocular inspection of the farm to be
shouldered by farm seeking accreditation.

Accreditation Renewal

Multiplier ₱ 5,000.00 ₱ 2,500.00

For farms that fall under more than one Bureau of Animal Industry
