Directions: Go to 16personalities.com and register for the website, then complete the
assessment.

1. Record your personality type under number one in the worksheet following these two
pages of instructions. (Example, Dr. Holik’s is Assertive Consul)

2. Record your individual traits under number two in the worksheet following these two
pages of instructions. (Example, Dr. Holik’s is ESFJ)

3. Write a brief summary of how each individual trait will help you succeed in your career
under number three in the worksheet following these two pages of instructions. (Dr.
Holik’s example)
E – as a professor, I need to be extraverted to be able to teach comfortably in front of
my classes. I have to be outgoing because I meet different students every semester and I
have to get involved with many committees.
S – as a professor, being observant is important because I have to continuously evaluate
students. Have the ability to be observant helps me know my students’ personalities
better and know things like if they are having an “off” day, or knowing if they are liking
the teaching methodology I’m using on a particular day.
F – as a professor, being intuitive and feeling gives me the ability to have positive
interpersonal communication with students and colleagues. It helps me understand how
to read body language or other social cues. It can help me be relatable and
approachable.
J – as a professor, judgment speaks to my level of organization and ability to provide
clear and concise direction.

4. Record your role under number four in the worksheet following these two pages of
instructions. (Dr. Holik’s example; Sentinel)

5. Record your strategy under number five in the worksheet following these two pages of
instructions. (Dr. Holik’s example; People Mastery).

6. Using the MBTI list of personality types found under Additional Resources in the Module
and the information from 16-Personalities, provide a brief summary of your personality
type and say if it aligns with who you think you are under number six in the worksheet
following these two pages of instructions. (Dr. Holik’s example; Warmhearted,
conscientious, and cooperative. Want harmony in their environment, work with
determination to establish it. Like to work with others to complete tasks accurately
and on time. Loyal, follow through even in small matters. Notice what others need in
their day-by-day lives and try to provide it. Want to be appreciated for who they are
and for what they contribute. I think this absolutely aligns with my personality)

7. Using the MBTI List of Personalities and 16-Personalities again, identify one personality
type you think you’d clash with and explain why under number seven in the worksheet
following these two pages of instructions. (Dr. Holik’s example; ISFP Quiet, friendly,
sensitive, and kind. Enjoy the present moment, what's going on around them. Like
to have their own space and to work within their own time frame. Loyal and
committed to their values and to people who are important to them. Dislike
disagreements and conflicts do not force their opinions or values on others.) The
reason I don’t feel I would get along with this personality is because I have a hard
time working with passive people. While disagreements and conflict are not my
favorite things, I do think they are unavoidable in life and sometimes necessary to
make things more forward. I may also be over-powering for this person and too
much for them to handle on a regular basis.

8. Using the MBTI List of Personalities and 16-Personalities again, identify one personality
type you think you’d work well with and explain why under number eight in the
worksheet following these two pages of instructions. (Dr. Holik’s example; ESTP Flexible
and tolerant, they take a pragmatic approach focused on immediate results. Theories
and conceptual explanations bore them - they want to act energetically to solve the
problem. Focus on the here-and-now, spontaneous, enjoy each moment that they
can be active with others. Enjoy material comforts and style. Learn best through
doing. I think I would get along with this personality because we would be each
other’s yin to the yang. Where this person may not fully conceptualize the bigger
picture, I will balance them out by doing so, and they may add a certain level of
excitement to my career that I might otherwise not have daily.

Submit to dropbox labeled MBTI by end of day.
