about management, not to teach them to be managers.” Do you agree or disagree with this
statement? Discuss.

2. Suppose you are the team leader of your class project team in MGT 211 course. How will you play
the interpersonal roles in successfully implementing the project?

3. What actions did Taylor take to ensure that the workers would perform to their full potential?

4. Based on Porter’s 5 forces model, give your analysis of the competitive structure of private
university education in Bangladesh.

5. Coca Cola Company, the world’s largest producer of carbonated drinks, have been operating in
Bangladesh through licensing arrangements with a number of local companies like Mukti joddha
Kallyan Trust and Tabani beverage. Recently, Coca Cola has decided have its direct operations in the
country. Do you think this decision of direct investment in the country by Coca Cola is justified?
Explain.

6. Suppose you, along with few other friends, have decided to establish a business learning centre for
owners and managers of small businesses in Bangladesh. These small entrepreneurs, mostly do not
have any formal business education. Prepare three most important strategic goals for your
organisation and the tactical goals necessary to achieve these strategic goals.

I agree with the statement “The purpose of a management course is to teach students about
management, not to teach them to be managers” made by the professor.

Management is a course which cover a lot of ground, and being a manager is a part of it. For being a
successful manager, you need to know the ins and out of management. Management like any other
subject, there are more to it than just what or how. It has its span or coverage. When comes to order it
has its hight, layers or hierarchy. For perspective there is depth. Management also has its intensity,
volition and ups and downs. These detailed and complicated parts help to create a harmonious
management environment. This course by teaching these traits creates a great manager who can
manage anything swiftly.
