To Blake Farenthold,

The greenhouse effect is a very pressing issue that’s affecting our environment in this

current day. This issue has been harming our environment for over two centuries, and should be

properly addressed with your help. For example, greenhouse emissions have almost single

handedly cause global warming. Other major problems caused by these emissions include: ocean

acidification, smog pollution, & ozone depletion.

Ocean acidification, for example, the incline in carbon dioxide levels caused by the

greenhouse effect has led to ocean becoming 30% more acidic over the last two centuries. The

ocean becoming more acidic is causing aquatic wildlife to die off. This effect is also contributing

to global warming, which in turn leads to the ice caps melting. Over the last 100 years, the

methane and nitrogen levels have doubled and this has lead to major air pollution. The ozone

pollution is also a major factor of smog and ozone polluting the fresh air humans and plants want

to take in. These are just a few of the harmful factors that are produced by the greenhouse effect,

and this is why this letter should be taken seriously, Mr. Farenthold.

We think you should take time and evaluate the harmful effects caused by the greenhouse

effect. The oceanic ecosystem can’t continue to be harmed by this effect, something has to be

done about the ozone levels. Deforestation is a huge factor of why greenhouse emissions have

been intensified over the recent years. This would be one of the ways to stop increasing the

emissions. It’s important that you must take action to prevent this from getting worse.

Sincerely,
