The Indian Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in India contested during March
or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities or states in India. IPL
was founded in 2008. Since then, the event was successfully organized by reputed Event Management
companies.
The project undertaken is to successfully organize IPL 2020. A 360˚ approach is followed to make the
event a grand success. From the top till the event is over, the project Management team is responsible
for everything that’s happening within their scope.
· To plan and organize the event On track with the schedule.
· Lucrative Execution of the planned tasks
· To Manage the event within the estimated Budget
The Full Project management team(Stakeholders) will be responsible for the overall output. However,
Responsibility and Authority for specified tasks are assigned to individual stakeholder.
In Scope:
· IPL 2020 stadium arrangements
· Transportation : Pick up and drop off to the hotel
· Audio system and clear Screen time in the big screen is taken care off.
Out of Scope:
· Other than the single event, the team will not organise any other match related works
· The Live telecasting stays outside the team’s Forte
The Highest requirement to meet the project deliverables is Human resource. A good agreement with
multiple sponsors, contractors and sub-contractors in various aspects is inevitable.
Event Management of IPL 2020 is one of the toughest events to be organised. The team should step up
their efforts and must fit their time around the work.
The Event management team is only responsible for the management of a single match in IPL 2020 .
Other matches rather than the specific event don’t fall into the Project Forte.
The Project will be accepted only when its agreed by the Project Management team that the
deliverables meet their needs. The project will also be accepted by considering the Budget,
Profitability, Success rate, and Risk involved.
The major risk associated with the project is Budget and Risk. Given the success rate, the event will be
a success. However, completing the project on time and within the stipulated budget is the key risk
factor.
· Safely transporting the Players and other delegations to the stadium and back to their Hotels.
· To make necessary arrangements at the stadium, in terms of prepping the pitch, the apparels,
Seating, Security arrangement, Audience screening, Taking care of Acoustics and Audio systems, First
aid Doctors and helpers, Food and Beverage stores, other accomodations, etc.
The project is staffed with 5 major Stakeholders.
