What are pedagogical approaches? They are the overall
perspectives used to plan and implement one or more instructional strategies Examples of pedagogical approaches: (2c-2i-1R) -Constructivist, Collaborative, Inquiry Based, Integrative and Reflective. Learning Objectives After a thorough discussion and with the aid of powerpoint presentation, the participants will: - Explain pedagogical approaches - Cite approaches that are relevant to the new normal context - Identify suited teaching modalities - Plan activities that promote higher order thinking skills Resources Power point presentation, laptop, LCD, video clip, handouts Introductory Activity (10 Present Section 5 (e) RA 10533. mins.) “The curriculum shall use pedagogical approaches such as constructivism, inquiry- based, reflective, collaborative, and integrative.” Show picture of learners who are not paying attention in class. Solicit their ideas on what they will do to the learners.
Activity 1(20 mins.)
Present and discuss the powerpoint presentation on Pedagogical Approaches and its components. Analysis(10 mins.) Ask: What is Pedagogical Approach? What are the different pedagogical approaches? What are activities that promote higher oder thinking skills to the new normal context?
Abstraction(10 mins.) Discussion on pedagogical approaches and its
components.
Application(7 mins.) Give some situations and have the participants
apply the different pedagogical approaches. Analysis(2 mins.) Call some participants to give their answers on the situation given. Concluding Activity End the session by presenting this quote: ( mins.)
