CHAPTER FOUR

Data analysis and interpretation

Data analysis is discussion, interpretation and results, this chapter presents describes and
analysis data gathered from store and store keeping management by distribution questionnaires
to the store workers the data gathered form managers of this department by structured
interview basically the purpose of this chapter is to examine problem related with store
management

Table 1 shows that out of total respondents of 7(64%) are males works and 4(36%) of the
respondent are female form this to conclude that from the total number of employees majority of
them are males.

This indicates that most of the store works skilled and educated workers.

Table 4 shows that out of total of respondent 52(18%) have 0-5 work experience and 2 (18%)
of respondents have 6-10 work experience and 6(55%) of respondents have 11-15 work
experience , where as , 1 (9%) of respondents have 16-20 work experience.

This indicates that, the organization employees have 0-20 work experience

adequate an proper storage service to preserve material from damage and loss that is 10 (9%) and
the remaining 1 (9%) respondent disagree with this idea the investigation have under stood that
the store gives specially care every item in the stone depending on their nature.

environmental condition but the an other 6 (55%) respondents disagree with this idea. This
indicated even f the store preserves materials from damage still there are some materials any
affect by water or humidity other affected hotness of the environment to protect them indifferent
store house and with special protection.

The data collected from workers shows that 9(82%) respondents replied yes and 2 (`18%)
respondent responded no from the data we can that there is good store management in the store
this helps them to give good service from workers.

respondents respond on this indicates as controlling through computer system rather than
manual is not yes applied in the store house there is a computer in the store the manager used this
to row the budget of each department rather for controlling of materials.

As shown in the table 2 (18%) out of 11 respondents said that the organization use device to
protect the store form hazard the remaining 9(82%) don’t agree with them the study. The
researcher understanding that the store department does not use adequate device to protect the
store form fire hazard.

the store and concerned department that is 11 (100%) observes and from method data obtained

that the store has difficult to give fast and clear information.

As data show in the table 12, 7(64%) out of 11 respondents choose both yearly and when
materials received the remaining 4 (36%) responds respond yearly this shows us the store
keeping use both methods.

classification to store materials according to their value. So this indicates that according to the
above answer the student researcher analyze that materials are controlled properly specially for
materials that need special care.

Interview

As mentioned in the introduction of this chapter the student researcher used interview of gather
information the manager of store department.

Mr Tariun Turuna, This interview contain four question and analyzed in the following form

1. How do you handle the movement of materials in the store house?

Mr Zariun Turuna, all most all materials stored with in the sore house are moved from one
place to another here by using labor forces which will create on opportunity for damage on both
the materials and workers because the store does not have sufficient materials handling
equipment to handle materials properly.

2. What factors affect material handling activity in your store?


Mr Zariun Turuna the store house is for the major factor which affects the activity of materials
handling which is difficult to make materials from the store to the factory.

According to the above answer the students researcher can analyzes that the store house affects
the activity of materials handling which is different to more materials.

3. What is the benefit that the store department gets from proper material handling?

Mr Zariun Turuna the benefit that the store department gets from proper material handling this
due to the absence of sufficient material handling environment the store is not benefiting from
material handling.

4. What kind of codification system the stores use?

Mr Zariun Turuna the store use alphanumeric confiscation system that is preferable for the
materials.

According to the above answer the student researcher can analyze the store house faster service
for the user department because this they can easily find materials.

5. Conclusion and recommendation


5.1. Conclusion
- It is true that the stores providing goods services to the user department of the
organization

A store based is very essential for an organization and makes an important contribution to
production process of course this sis due to good management of the store manager.

However the stores have difficulty in handling materials specially to move materials from one
place to another place. This is due to luck of sufficient materials handling equipment, another
one is problem of paper work and absence of computer network.
- This is very important for big organization to give clear and fast information and to
have a good relation with concerned departments
- Hinder the activity of store operation there are problems
- Shortage of material handling device
- Lack of adequate safety device there for even if the store is providing good service for the
user department there is need to give problems.

In addition lack of adequate the store from hazard this problems hander the activity of store
operations.

5.1. Recommendation

The smooth operation of store is essential for an organization to increase its productivity. Thus
in order tackle the existing problems of dire dawa food complex share company store house and
to maintain steadily great in future the following recommendation are suggested.

Provision of fire extinguisher facility is necessary specially where in flammable materials, are
stored and handled as one large organization

Thus, the organization should have to fulfill the entire necessary device like extinguisher
To overcome the environmental influence the store department should distinguish materials
based on their nature and give appropriate care for them.

- In order to increase control over material ABC analysis and no entry should be Appear
in the store.
- In order to minimize shortage of stronger space purchase of material the store
department should communicate with other departments.
- To protect from damage and deterioration proper strong should be apply.

The store department must be well equipped to minimize damage of materials and injury of
workers.

- By using all the necessary handling equipment the store should have to save time cost
and minimize use of labor forte.
- In order to give fast and clear information for the concerned department save time and
labor cost computer network should be available in the organization.
- To insure protection of the store from fire hazard and the store department should
have to use atoms system and other important five extinguishers.
