In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to
move/count coins to their correct values and learn about the exchange of money for
goods/services.
Pedagogy

Activity Students completing this activity must have prior knowledge


in adding and subtracting 2-digit numbers.

The teacher will ensure students know the value of each coin
and 100 cents equaling $1.

1. Students will drag coins into the pot to show the


correct amount.

2. Students will add the coins in each line and write the
amount on the line.

3. Students will purchase and item on the page with


their $1.00 and will need to make change by dragging
the correct coins near the bottom of the page.

The teacher will monitor the students during the activity and
provide them with any help needed, mathematical or
technical.

Correct answers should include appropriate symbols such as


the cent or dollar symbol and decimal points when writing
the value of the money
