Experiment-14
Aim :
To implement this experiment we need Router, End devices, Switches & Access Point-PT.

Step1 : Open CISCO Packet Tracer.

Step2 : Go to End devices and select any End devices, minimum seven devices(two PCs and
two Laptops) are required for this network. (take end devices for both wired and wireless
connection such as – PC’s, Laptop’s, Tablet, Printer, Smartphone.)
Step3 : Go to Network devices and select switch, minimum two switches are required for the
connection of this network.
Step4 : Go to Network devices and select Router, only one router is required for the connection
of this network.
Step5 : Now go to Connections and select automatically choose connection type and join two
End devices with switches. Join Router with both the switches. Join a Switch with Access
Point-PT together. as shown in above image.
Now Configure router
Step6 : Click on the Router. Go to Config. > Interface > FastEthernet0/0 > type Gateway
address(192.168.10.1) in address column and click on subnet mask it automatically fills the
address. You can refer the image for to follow the step.

Note: Use different FastEthernet such as FastEthernet0/0 for 1st network and FastEternet1/0 for
2nd network and also don’t forget to ON Port status of FastEthernet.
Step7 : Click on the Router. Go to Config. > Interface > FastEthernet0/1 > type Gateway
address(192.168.11.1) in address column and click on subnet mask it automatically fills the
address. You can refer the image for to follow the step.

Step8 : Open Router Config. > Routing > RIP > and ADD both network basic address which
you provided as Gateway and save it. For example, if you entered 192.168.10.1 and 192.168.11.1
as IP addresses in router then ADD both the addresses in RIP. You can refer the image for to
follow the step.

Now Configure End Devices of Wired Network

Step9: The next step is for End devices of wired network. For this click on any End device, go
to Desktop > IP Configuration. In IP Configuration select Static type then type address in
IPv4 Address Column and click on Subnet mask it automatically fills the address. Then enter
the Default Gateway do the same for other End devices of wired network. For example, if your
Default Gateway for one network is 192.168.10.1 then enter 192.168.10.2 or 192.168.10.3 for
End devices IP Address.

Note: Gateway should be an all over IP of that network so, its address should be different for
both networks. Do the same process for other networks too. Remember to provide different IP
Addresses to other Networks.
Now Configure devices of Wireless Network
Step10 : Click on Access Point-PT, Go to Config > Interface > Port 1. In Port 1 ON the Port
Status then provide(type) a SSID in the column. After that move to Authentication part select
WEP and Enter the 10 digit WEP Key in the column.
For example, SSID is ABC and the WEP Key is 9013778867.

Step11 : Click on any End devices then, in End devices physical settings turn off the device first
then drag the WMP300N from MODULES and put it on the connection part as shown in picture
that is given below. After this turn on the device.

Step12 : Now, go to Config > Wirless0. Go to SSID column enter the same ID which you
provided in Access Point-PT then in the Authentication part select WEP then in the WEP Key
column enter the same key which we provided in Access Point. After this go to IP
Configuration part select Static IP and provide IPv4 Address and it automatically fills the
subnet mask. For example, enter the same SSID - ‘ABC’ and Key – ‘9013778867’ that we
entered in Access Point then provide an IP such as 192.168.1.2, 192.168.1.3 , 192.168.1.4 , so on
for other devices.

Step13 : Perform the same step with other End devices to add SSID and Key to make devices
wireless. You need to do all these settings in only Wireless0 for the other devices too. When all
the devices got connected with the Access Point-PT at that time a wire will be visible as you can
see in the output image.
Step14 : You can add the shapes in the devices that you used in your network and you can also
add note to write IP Address on them. After this click on add simple PDU to share packets.
Step15 : Now click on simulation and click on auto capture/ play button to see where your
network is successfully sharing the packets.
