HAMMERMILL HAMMERS AND RODS

For more than 60 years, Jacobs has been making quality,

long-wearing hammermill hammers. Jacobs hammers
are formed from a special steel alloy. Hammers are
machined, hard-faced and heat-treated to match user
requirements.

STCTM (Suspended Tungsten Carbide) Hard-facing.

Jacobs XL (Extended-life) rods provide the strength and

durability needed in severe wear conditions.

XTR roll shells have been developed exclusively by
Jacobs Corporation to wear longer than any other
type of roll shell in use today. The XTR shells are
hardened to depth of .180" (six-times deeper than
the leading competitor)! The deeper hardness
provides longer life by retarding the excessive
wear that occurs when a shell is worn below the
std..030" case depth the competitors offer.
Tests conducted at numerous facilities pelleting a
wide variety of products confirm that the new
XTR roll shell will consistently out-perform the
competitors' roll shells. Some XTR users report
an overall increase in roll life of more than
20 percent as compared to their previous shells.
