PART 1 GENERAL
A. The Work of this Section covers storm drainage piping and specialties within
buildings.
B. Plumbing Products
A. Furnishing, installation, testing and bringing systems into full satisfactory operational
conditions of the storm drainage piping.
B. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to
make the work complete and ready.
D. This Section shall be read in conjunction with SECTIONS 15051 and 15055.
1.05 REFERENCES
A. The referred codes and standards are intended to provide an acceptable level of
quality for materials, products and workmanship. In case of conflict between these
standards and the text of this Specification, the Specification text shall govern.
B. The latest revision of the referred codes and standards shall be used wherever
applicable. In case of conflict, the Contractor shall propose equipment, materials and
processes conforming to one group of codes and standards.

1.06 SUBMITTALS
A. The Contractor shall submit to the Royal Commission, under the provisions of
SECTION 01330, the following items for review and approval before commencing
Work:
1. The Contractor shall submit all relevant manufacturers’ literature for pipes,
fittings, couplings, accessories, roof drains and relief drains.
A. The Contractor shall be responsible for the quality of work and shall develop and
propose programs and methods of construction and testing to achieve the specified
quality to the approval of the Royal Commission in accordance with
SECTION 01450.

B. In the absence of any of the above, best accepted industry practice shall be
employed throughout.
A. The Contractor shall not install underground piping when bedding is wet.
A. The Contractor shall deliver, handle and store equipment and material units in
accordance with SECTIONS 01650 and 01660.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.01 GENERAL
A. All goods and products covered by these Specifications shall be procured, when
available, from an in-Kingdom manufacturer. Procurement of all goods and products
manufactured out-of-Kingdom shall be approved by the Royal Commission.
1. PE Pipe
a) ASTM D3035, for 315 kPa (45 psig) pressure rating or AWWA C901.
1) Fittings: AWWA C901 molded or fabricated.
2) Joints: Compression.
2. GFRP Pipe
a) ISO 7370.
1) Fittings: GFRP.
2) Joints: Solvent cemented socket and spigot joints or flanged
joints.

C. General
2. PVC plastic pipe may be used for above ground when piping is enclosed in
1 hour fire rated pipe chase.
A. Roof Drains
1. General
2) Use 150 to 300 mm diameter type for large or small roof areas
and heavy rainfall region.
e) Generally, roof drain type shall be dome type, unless otherwise noted.
d) Options
1) Adjustable extension assembly.
2) Underdeck clamp for gypsum and metal deck roofing.
3) Roof sump receiver.
4) Any other option might be needed by roof or area requirements.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.01 INSPECTION
3.02 INSTALLATION
A. General
2. Install storm drainage piping at the following minimum slope, unless other
otherwise noted:
3. All roof drains location shall be installed as shown on the Contract Drawings
and on the approved Shop Drawings.
4. The Contractor shall install roof drain and accessories in strict conformance
with manufacturer’s written instructions.
2. The Contractor shall coordinate with other trades to assure that new drain
leaders and connective piping are complete, sealed and tested prior to opening
roof drains for service.
1. Metallic pipes laid underground shall be coated with 2 coats of epoxy coating
with PVC wrap.
B. The Contractor shall clear the interior of the pipe of dirt and other material as the
work progresses.
C. Plugs
1. All open pipe ends or fitting openings shall be plugged or capped immediately
during construction.
3.04 TESTING
B. Storm drainage piping tests shall be made prior to concealing pipe in walls, above
ceilings or below grade, shall be tested as follows:
6. Test underground piping at minimum 40 kPa for 12 hours and prove tight prior
to backfilling trenches.
