Some people would say that teenagers should know right from wrong. Teenagers
are very young. Do we, as teenagers, know right from wrong? We are prone to do
things. They are frowned on by adults. We are in a stage of life. We are most
susceptible to peer-pressure. During my own limited research, I have found
something surprising.

Teenagers feel the death penalty should be strongly enforced. They believe teens
should be treated as adults. The teenagers I interviewed believed that we should
face the consequences of our actions like adults. Jurors should not accept excuses
like, “Well, I’m just a kid and it was a stupid mistake.” Adults were faced with the
question of whether adolescents should be tried as adults. They said they didn’t
have the “power” or “right” to judge whether someone should die or not. Teenagers
should face up to their actions. They should accept the consequences of their
behavior. The death penalty should not be applied to any person. No one has the
right to judge that someone else should die

EXPOSITORY WRITING

Some people would say that teenagers should know right from wrong. As they are
in a stage of life at a very young age, they are more susceptible to peer-pressure .
Adolescents are prone to do things, then they are frowned on by adults. During my
own limited research, I have found something surprising.

On one hand, he teenagers I interviewed believed that we should face the

consequences of our actions like adults. They agreed that Jurors should not accept
excuses like, “Well, I’m just a kid and it was a stupid mistake.” They also believe
teens should be treated as adults. To my surprise, they feel the death penalty
should be strongly enforced.

On the other hand, Adults were faced with the question of whether adolescents
should be tried as adults. In contrast to what teenagers alleged, adults said they
didn’t have the “power” or “right” to judge whether someone should die or not.

To summarize, teenagers should face up to their actions and accept the

consequences of their behavior. Apart from that, the death penalty should not be
applied to any person as no one has the right to judge that someone else should
die.

The relationship between crime and poverty

Argentina is facing poverty at a growing rate in different regions of the country. It
affects children and adults no matter age nor gender. Poverty rose to 35.4% and
already reaches 15.9 million Argentines this august 2019, according to Indec.
However, Argentina reduced the homicide rate by 30 percent in the last 4 years,
according to the Ministry of Security. Nevertheless, some people say there is a
close relationship between crime and poverty.

Poverty has become a major concern in the Argentina because of the effects it has
on the youth in our society. Many young children are faced with lack of food,
inadequate living conditions, and lack of parental guidance. Strains are placed on
children living in poverty at young ages. Children living in poverty generally isolated
from mainstream society, don’t have access to community organizations, poor
schools, low self-esteem, depression, behavioral problems in school, and engage
in delinquent activities. It affects their lives in a way which makes them feel
different from the rest, developing a negative and repulsive attitude among others.
It will surely lead to major problems in their daily lives as they grow up.

Crime among the poor has been studied over the years to see if there is a
relationship between crime and poverty. People who have spent time researching
about this topic, have suggested the link between delinquency and poverty is due
to unemployment, family disruption, lack of education, marital disruption, teenage
pregnancy, isolation of poorer neighborhoods, lack of role models in the
communities, less supervised youth programs, and no formal community networks
to deter potential criminal. Despite the many causes of crime, poverty is not always
the main reason which make poor people commit crimes; it is important to bear in
mind this as many people relate directly the poverty with the crime. That is not
always true.
The link between poverty and crime is diverse. The reasons why people who are
living in poverty commit criminal acts vary from crime being the only opportunity to
achieve a higher level of socioeconomic status to enhance financial ability. People
of all class commit crime for different reasons, but it has been proven over the
years by different researchers that people living in poverty commit more crime than
any other class.
