Field Experience Observation Videos

● Variables and Patterns of Change. The grade level is high school and the video

them break into groups and assign them an activity to work together and allow
each student to find all the possibilities to solve the problem in different ways
together and then each group demonstrates back to class.

and get the class to try and do it on their own to learn the concepts so the
students know how to do a problem mathematically.

centered lesson. I like how the teacher was patient with her class and let them
take a second to gather their thoughts. That’s something I can do as a teacher in
my future classroom.

lesson. Explore tasks that get the students to think about thinking. Create
opportunities to reflect and self-reflect.

It was a student centered lesson. Seeing the students interacting with each other
and hearing each other agrees and disagrees is when they really learn.
Especially doing it themselves or with their classmates is a good prime example
of structure in the classroom.

The big thing about teaching is making sure you teach the material where they
would have to apply or use it if possible outside of the classroom. Having them
explore their knowledge and transfer it to the real world.

centered lesson. Having the students do collaborating activities and seeing them
going in with confidence and motivation is a good way to get them excited about
learning. The students having fun pushes them to stay motivated and accomplish
the activity and objective.

placed a picture on the projector screen and she showed the picture for a few
seconds then hid it then showed the picture again. It’s a good way to use their
memory to visual the picture and the different ways to solve it.

minutes and 34 seconds. It was a student centered lesson. In the beginning of
the video the teacher uses slow communication and small hints to help guess the
world. At the end of the video the teacher had the class stand and make gestures
while reading along with the book which was a really good teaching technique.
● 3rd Grade Science Lesson. The grade level is 3rd and the video length was 15
minutes and 1 second. It was a student centered lesson. I could use the tactic of
giving the students instructions to a science project and working together in a
group of two while working one step at a time to prove the thesis was correct.
● Frontier Elementary Classroom Observation. The grade level is 4th and the

teacher’s style of teaching was beneficial and how she had them works in groups
to discuss the guideline making sure they didn’t talk over one another.
● ELEM Lesson on Sound. The grade level is Elementary and the video length is
26 minutes and 45 seconds. It was a student centered lesson. The one thing I
take away from this video is how calm she was helping them with their science
experiment as they learned how do I hear sound? She gradually walked around
asking questions pertaining to the experiment and going over the instructions.

has them share what happened over their weekend. Seeing them make eye
contact with one another and be respectful to each other and really get to know
their peers. Creating a safe place for the writer and making a good community in
the classroom.

students for reasons to write I could have them choose their own topics like
experiences, interests and passions. This allows them to use their voice through
writing and let them know their lives are important to talk about.

writing workshop was an excellent way to encourage the third graders to write.
Having them write about what they like and what they know to make it a fun and

teaching tool is a good way to inspire the students and learn the joy of writing.

have learned and create a graph done so by the teacher to track the students
progress. Have a guided reading group to make connections to the text and

lesson. Do as the teacher did sit down one on one and give the student a list of
easy words to read from to test how many they know. Then, give them another
list with bigger and see how many they can read.
