Student B: You are an architect. Talk to Student A about

 historical architecture for your project.
Suggested Answer!

A: Are you working on the theatre projec?

B: Yes. The client wants it to feature Gothic architecture. But I’m not
sure what features to use.
A: Do you have anything in mind?
B: I was thinking of using bustresses to support the walls.
A: You could do that. But if you ask me, a ribbed vault is the best way to
convey a Gothic appearance.
B: You are probably right. But I want to make sure that it is historically
accurate.
A: Just look at some diagrams of medieval cathedrals.
B: That sounds like a good idea. Where do I find that information?
A: Let me find my book on Gothic and Renaissance architecture.
B: Okay, thanks.
9.Writing
Dear Mr. Barker,

I have prepared some ideas for the new museum. I know you want a classical
appearence, so I recommend using classical columns at the front entrance.
These will maake the building instantly recognizable as a design based on
classical architecture. Classical columns have very particular specifications. I
think we should follow these specifications carefully to ensure the historical
accuracy of your building. Please see the enclosed guide to the five orders of
classical columns. Let me know which of the orders appeals to you most.
Sincerely,
