TRAINING SESSION
TRAINING Overview

• AutoPlan BPAS is a Computer Aided Design (CAD) based software to enable Building
Plan Submission and subsequent scrutiny as per ZR/Bylaws.

• It is used to prepare the plans for Building Plan Approval System.

• It verifies the plans submitted for Building Plan Approval System based on Bylaws
and Zonal Regulations and generate Reports for the plan

• AutoPlan BPAS has two integral parts:


– AutoPlan Author

– AutoPlan Verify

• AutoPlan Author is a fast, stable and user-friendly software which shall be used by
the Architect / Engineer.

• It is used to prepare the input file (.apz file) which has to be submitted along with
application through online for Building Plan Approval System.

• AutoPlan Author shall be downloaded from Portal Application in Building Plan


Approval System by registered technical person in Portal Application.

• AutoPlan Author is downloaded as zip file (Author.zip) which contains a Setup.exe


file and “AutoPlan Author Installation Guide.pdf” file. It is used to prepare the plans
for Building Plan Approval System.

• Building plans are prepared in AutoCAD and the prepared Building Plan shall be
marked using AutoPlan Author to prepare the application file (.apz file).

• AutoPlan Author verifies the prepared drawing and generates verification results
and sample Reports so that the Architect / Engineer can confirm whether the
building plan is acceptable to Building Bye-laws and Zonal Regulations before
applying to Building Plan Approval System.

• AutoPlan Author highlights the failed objects in drawing for corrections with
required / permissible values as per Building Bye-laws and Zonal Regulations.

SETUP How to renew AutoPlan Author License?

• Once these steps are done. YOU ARE READY TO USE.


• A Shortcut is created on the desktop.
• Double click on the ICON and start the application.

• Make sure you have following system configurations and requirements

– Windows OS
– AutoCAD (Full Version) 13.0 and above
– Adobe Acrobat PDF Reader

• After double click, it will open, up the initial screen as shown

ADVANTAGES AutoPlan Author

• If you are using AutoCAD Standard Version 13.00 and above, You can use the Author mode to mark
the objects in the drawing.
• This is simple way of using the BPAS system.
• You are not required to manage layers, colors, line types and styles and related properties
• If you are using any other CAD software, we still give you freedom to use the BPAS system by using
AutoPlan CN (CAD Neutral) version

Procedure for preparation of the Application file (.apz file) in 3 Steps


(Using AutoPlan Author in system having any CAD versions)

Step 1: Building plans are prepared by Architect / Engineer in CAD


software in layers as prescribed the User Manual.

Step 2: Architect / Engineer prepare a AutoPlan Author Project in


which details of project such as drawing details, Ownership, Land
Details, Building Details, Lease Details, etc., shall be entered and the
prepared Building Plan shall be attached to the project

Step 3: Application file (.apz file) shall be generated from AutoPlan

How easy it is to create these layers?

• We have thought about these aspects as well.

• There is a simple way for that too. No need to create the layers.

• You can download the layer template and insert in your drawing to literally
import the layer.

• What you do is just select the objects and transfer to the prescribed layers.

SETUP How to Activate AutoPlan Author?

• Install Author tool, downloaded from Technical person's portal to activate AutoPlan Author, click
Activate button
• Select the License file which shall be downloaded from Technical persons portal and click open
button

SETUP How to renew AutoPlan Author License?

• Click About AutoPlan-BPAS in Help menu


• Click Renew button to renew license file

PROJECT New Project

• Click New Project option in File menu to create a new project

• New Project can also be created by clicking New Project icon in Tools bar

• Project Details form will open which contains following tabs


– Project Information

– Drawing File Details

– Architect & Developer Details

– Engineer Details

– Ownership Details

– Project Details

– Land Details

– Lease Details

PROJECT Project Information

• Select the Authority to whom the project is going to be submitted


• Enter a name for the project, short description about the project, Client Name and Application Type
• Select Project Path to save Author Project by Selecting any existing folder or create a new folder

• Select the drawing file for which project has to be created


• Select the details of drawing such as unit and scales

PROJECT Architect & Developer Details

• Architect details will be loaded from License file details which was entered during Technical Person
Registration in TPs portal.
• Enter the details of Developer such as Name, Address, email and phone number

PROJECT Engineer Details

• Enter the details of Structural engineer and License engineer such as Name, Address,
email, phone number, registration number and validity of registration number

PROJECT Ownership Details

• Enter the details of Owners such as Name, Father name, mother name, Address, email, phone
number
• Select “Is Applicant” if the owner is the applicant and multiple owner details can be saved

• Select the land use details of project such as Zone, Land Use category, Land Use sub category, etc
• Enter the details of Building such as Building Type, Building Name, Floor Details
• Project Start and End date
• Multiple Buildings can be saved

DRAWING Land Details

• Enter the details of Land such as Address, Khata number, Plot Number, Plot Area Property ID
Number etc.,
• Multiple Buildings can be saved

• Enter lease if applicable


• AutoPlan Author Project (.aap) file can be saved by clicking finish button or in File menu project can
be saved by clicking Save icon in Tools bar

DRAWING Floor Details

• Click Floor Details option in Edit menu


• Select building from Building Name
dropdown list
• Select the Floors by click and hold
Control key and select by mouse left
click.
• Click Typical button to convert normal
floor to typical floor and click Save
button

DRAWING Connected Floor Details

• Enter a name for the connection, select the connection type whether Simple Passage Connection or
Total Area connection and select the building and floor to be added to connection

DRAWING Room Library

• Select the room type under which the room has to be added to library
• Enter the Room Name, Length, Width and Height, mark Area, Floor Level and Ceiling Level and click
Save button

DRAWING Light and Ventilation Library

• Select the opening type under which the opening


has to be added to library
• Enter the Opening Name, Width and Height, mark
Width, Start and End and click Add button

MARKING Mark Site Area

• Click Mark button corresponding to Site Area in Marking Control form


• Enter the neighbouring details if the plot if necessary
• Click Mark button to mark Front, Left, Right and Rear boundaries of site
• Click Highlight button to highlight the marked site boundaries

MARKING Mark Floor Level

• Click Mark button corresponding to Floor Level in Marking Control form


• Mark Ground Line, Roof Line, Floor Level and Slab Bottom Level of all the floors in the building by
clicking Mark button
• Click Highlight button to highlight the marked floor levels

MARKING Mark Car Parking

• Click Mark button corresponding to Car Parking in Marking Control form


• Select the building, enter the number of lots and properties of lot
• Mark the Kurb line, Parking line and mark car parking in the selected lot
• Click Highlight button to highlight the marked car parking

SCRUTINY Verification

• Click on Verify All button in the marking control Form or click Edit→ Verify All
• Verify All grid will open in which all the verification items will be displayed with Required /
Permissible value, Proposed value and Verification Status

• Click Scrutiny Report button in Verify All grid


• Sample Scrutiny Report will be generated and
saved in project folder
