Step 1:
Student ID: 16121002
So lets take,
Kp= 0.20
T=161 ms
Ki=2.10
Step 2:
Input span =3-(-3)= 6V
Output Span = 0.6-(-0.6)=1.2V

So,
Kp = 1.2/6= 0.2
Step 3:
Time constant Using Initial Slope Method:
T=180 ms
Time Constant using Settling Time:
T= Settling time/5
= 740/5
=148 ms
Determining Time constant Using 63% method:
63% Value = Bottom limit of output + 63/100(output span)
= -0.6+(.63*1.2)
= 0.156 Volts

So, T = 140 ms
Step 4:
Vvel=0.400
ta= 12.35
tb= 21.85

Del t = 21.85-12.35=9.5
Del V= 4-(-4)=8
Slope= 8/9.5=0.842
Ki=0.842 /0.40=2.105
Step 5:
T= tb2-tb1=34.10-21.85= 12.25 s
RPM= 60/12.25=4.898
Kr=4.898/0.400= 12.24

Questions:
1. What role does the integrator play?
Ans: We get the integrator constant Ki by integrating the output voltage while measuring
the position of a servo motor.

2. What is being used in the servo system to measure output velocity in volts? How can
you get the result in RPM?
Ans: A tachometer is being used in the servo system to measure output velocity in volts.
To get RPM value we have to determine the time period of the wave and divide it by
60s.
As in my experiment,
T= tb2-tb1=34.10-21.85= 12.25 s
RPM= 60/12.25=4.898
