PRELIM EXAMINATION

1. Are you in favor with the government’s approach in dealing with the pandemic?
Why?

Yes, since the pandemic comes in the Philippines, they have done some implemented
various actions towards the pandemic including a community quarantine in Metro Manila
which expanded to Luzon as well as other parts of the country, worked towards ensuring
that its health system can handle surge capacity, including for financing a services and
management of cases needing isolation, quarantine and hospitalization, and addressed the
social and economic impact to the community including providing social amelioration to
low income families.

2. Do you think SAP/Social Amelioration Program would lessen the effect of the
pandemic?

Maybe in a way on how DSWD will distribute the SAP. Much better to distribute it from
house-to-house and maintain the social distancing. And SAP must give the appropriate
amount of money for the low income families to avoid complains. The effect of the
pandemic come first from the people and they must have discipline to their self and keep
the rules from the authority.

3. Are you in favor with the manner on how SAP is being distributed?
In general, I would say NO. Maybe in wearing protective gears I must say that they
follow. But when it comes to distribution many low income families did not receive the
SAP, may families complain about it. Other families decline in the list of DSWD yet they
are the families who needed the most. In the other side, some political member stole it
and the cash will running out when it was given to the families. That was the most
disappointing part for having this kind of politics in the Philippines.
4. Is wearing facemask/face shield would help to prevent in acquiring the virus?
Yes, facemask and face shield is mandatory especially in our current situation. Mask and
face shield is a simple barriers to help prevent droplets from travelling into air and onto
other people when the person wearing the mask coughs, sneezes, talks or roses their
voice. Mask and face shield most like to reduce the spread of COVID-19 from spreading
the virus to others. Face shields is primarily used for eye protection for the person
wearing it. At this time, it is not known what level of protection a face shield provides to
people nearby from the spray of respiratory form the wearer.

5. Are you in favor of implementing general quarantine in specific place/s?

Yes, quarantine is a big help to prevent spreading the virus. All over the world, public
health measures are in place with the aim of reducing the spread of COVID-19, a new
virus that spreads quickly and for which there is not yet an effective treatment or
vaccine. These measures include physical distancing (also called social distancing),
isolation and quarantine. Quarantine is the separation and restriction of movement of
people who have potentially been exposed to a contagious disease, in order to limit its
spread. It can be applied to individuals or whole communities. It can be voluntary or
enforced.
Effectiveness of quarantine during a viral outbreak relies on the timing and accuracy of
the quarantine period, as well as the ability of individuals and health care providers to
follow quarantine procedures. Current evidence to inform quarantine is limited, and
COVID-19 infection trends raise critical questions about implementation effectiveness.
