History
Cloth was the first artefact or one of the first artefact in the human history. First cloth was made
around 70,000 years ago and animal school was used before.Clothing style defines the material
and technology available at different places in different civilizations in different times,. Clothing
tell about the culture of the civilizations​.T ​ he wearing of clothing is exclusively a human characteristic 
and is a feature of most human societies.​ ​Textiles can be ​felt​ or ​spun​ ​fibers​ made into ​yarn​ and 
subsequently ​netted​, looped, ​knit​  to make fabrics, which appeared in the Middle East during the 
late ​stone age​.

A textile is a flexible material consisting of a network of natural or artificial.Yarn is produced

by ​spinning ​ raw fibres of wool, cotton, or other materials to produce long stranor thread.The
words fabric cloth and material are synonyms of textile. T are used for many purposes other
than clothing too like in making bags and covering table,beds.Animals textiles are made up of
hair,fur. If we talk about fabric it is constructed by conversion of yarns and some fibres into​ a ​
fabric having characteristic determine​d ​by the materials and method employed.
Uses
Cloth has very important uses like clothing,covering table,bed etc​Textiles for ​industrial purposes, 
and chosen for characteristics other than their appearance, are commonly referred to 
as ​technica.​ Technical textiles include textile structures for automotive applications, medical textiles (e.g. 
implants), geotextiles (reinforcement of embankments). In all these applications stringent performance 
requirements must be met. Woven of threads coated with ​zink oxide​, laboratory fabric has been shown 
capable of "self-powering nanosystems" using vibrations created by everyday actions like wind or body 
movements 

Types
1-Animals are a great source of textiles using its hair,skin 

2-Silk is an animal textile made from the fibres of the ​cocoon​ of the Chinese ​silkworm​ which is spun into 
a smooth fabric prized for its softness. There are two main types of the silk: 'mulberry silk' and 'wild silk'
.3-​Wool​ refers to the hair of the domestic ​sheep​ which is distinguished from other types of animal hair in 
that the individual strands are coated with scales and tightly crimped. 

Plants and minerals are also used as textiles.

Synthetic textiles also have a great role in it. It’s main use is in​ ​clothing.Polyster ​fibre is used in all 
types of clothing, either alone or blended with fibres such as ​cotton.Nylon​ is a fibre used to imitate silk; . 
Thicker nylon fibres are used in outdoor  

Methods for production 

Weaving-It involves interlacing a set of longer ​threads ​with a set of crossing threads. Thiers a machine 
called loom on which it is done. Some weaving is still done by hand. 

Knitting,looping and cracheting involves interacting of yarns,formed on knitting needle​ ​The processes are 
different in that knitting has several active loops at one time, on the knitting needle waiting to interlock 
with another loop, while Looping and crocheting never have more than one active loop on the needle. 

Challenges 

Unsustainable practices has been a big problem in this century The textile industry is shown to have a 
'negative environmental impact at most stages in the production process. 

Diversity in clothes 
We can use dye to color our clothes with different colors. We can add many jewellery on a cloth to make it 
attractive. We also add many small things to make it fashionable and diverse. 

Future 

Clothes was an integral part of human lives and always will be. From covering our body,using products 
like bag,cover for any object to fashion and culture diversity its necessity in our lives is one of the 
greatest.In future we have to focus more on sustainable production of cloth conceding the environment 
issues. More and more research is going on to how we can produce the fabric,etc. Researchers doing 
research on chemicals which can be useful for it in future.And this Industry has huge capabilities for 
future.
