 Select from the critical time frame during the pre-natal development where a teratogen
interrupts the development of the embryo or the fetus. Name the teratogen that caused a
birth defect.

 At the critical time frame during the pre-natal development where a teratogens
interrupts the development of the embryo or the fetus was during the 7 th -8th weeks
where the external genitalia are more sensitive and affect the lower and upper limbs
organ of the body. The teratogen that caused the birth defect was the tranquilizer
thalidomide it is one of the most famous and notorious teratogens which characteristic
features includes limb abnormalities that span from absence of the limbs to
rudimentary limbs to abnormally shortened limbs and thalidomide also causes
malformations of other organs including absence of the internal and external ears,
hemangiomas, congenital heart disease, and congenital urinary tract malformations.

 Illustrate the organ that is affected by the teratogen. For example: 2 months = lower and
upper limbs.
