PURPOSE OF MEDICATION

Control seizuer disorders by various mechanisms
- Lamotrigine (and others): slows the entrance of sodium & calcium back into
the neuron, thus extending the time it takes for the nerve to return to its active
state & slows the frequency of neuron firing
- Ezogabine: Promotes the removal of potassium which decreases neuronal
firing.
