Trash % of cotton by Shirley Analyzer

1. Preparation of the Specimens

i) Take the sample of cotton.

ii) Leave the sample on flat surface in standard atmosphere for conditioning.

2. Operation

i) Switch-on the instrument and allow to warm up.

ii) Clean the delivery box, trash tray and settling chamber.

iii) Take 100 gram cotton sample by weight.

iv) Placed the sample in sample bucket.

v) Press the start button; the system automatically separates the foreign matter

forms the cotton sample and discharged the non-lint particles and lint into

separate chambers.

vi) Calculate the amount of lint and non-lint particles as a percentage of original

specimen mass.
