Types of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence can be divided into three subfields:

●Artificial intelligence

●Machine learning

●Deep learning

Artificial Intelligence

Most of our smartphone, daily device or even the internet uses Artificial intelligence. Very often, AI and
machine learning are used interchangeably by big companies that want to announce their latest
innovation. However, Machine learning and AI are different in some ways.

Machine Learning

Machine Learning is the art of Study of Algorithms that learn from examples and experiences.

Machine learning is based on the idea that there exist some patterns in the data that were identified and
used for future predictions.
 The difference from hardcoding rules is that the machine learns on its own to find such rules.

Deep Learning

Deep learning is a sub-field of machine learning.

Deep learning does not mean the machine learns more in-depth knowledge; it means the machine uses
different layers to learn from the data.

The depth of the model is represented by the number of layers in the model. For instance, Google LeNet
model for image recognition counts 22 layers.

In deep learning, the learning phase is done through a neural network. Some of the most important
applications of AI include the Natural Language Understanding, Expert Systems, Planning and Robotics,
Machine Learning and Playing Games.

Types of Machine Learning

 Machine learning is sub-categorized to three types:

●Supervised Learning – It is related to the concept of Work on Me! – Under this the human is teaching
the learning and hence called supervised learning.

●Unsupervised Learning – I am happy myself in learning. The machine learns on its own.

●Reinforcement Learning – My Way of doing things, My rules! Here the computer uses the Hit & Trial
method to do the learning.

Domains of AI

The AI learning has three domains:

 a. Data – The facts, figures and images make a meaningful data.

b. Computer Vision – This directs the ability of a machine to extract information from an image that is
necessary to solve a task. This works better on Image Acquisition, Image processing, Image Analysis and
Image understanding.

c. Natural Language Processing – This is to design and build software that will analyze, understand and
generate languages that human use naturally

Artificial Intelligence Vs Natural Intelligence

This Is with reference to the differentiations with reference to AI.

The AI is:

a. Non Creative

b. Precise

c. Consistency

d. Multitasking

Whereas the Natural Intelligence is:

a. Creative
b. May contain errors

c. Non Consistent

d. Not easy to handle
