Weet wat te doen wanneer het alarm afgaat bij De Haagse

Welkom (terug) op De Haagse Hogeschool! Een nieuw academisch jaar gaat als vanouds van start na
de zomer; tegelijkertijd gaat alles anders. Alle organisaties in Nederland ondervinden de gevolgen
van de Corona-pandemie, maar voor De Haagse, als organisatie bij uitstek die zeer veel mensen
bijeenbrengt, grijpen ze echt in op de kern van wat we doen in.

Veiligheid staat bij De Haagse voorop. Daarom is besloten de ‘standaard’ bedrijfshulpverlenings-

(BHV)/ontruimingsoefening die in september 2020 gepland stond niet door te laten gaan. We vinden
het als hogeschool niet verantwoord honderden tot duizenden mensen tegelijkertijd samen te laten
komen op verzamelplaatsen. Omdat we jullie toch op de hoogte willen brengen van wat je moet
doen in geval van een calamiteit/het afgaan van het alarm, vragen we jullie aandacht voor
onderstaande samengevatte instructies en korte instructievideo’s per locatie:

1. Reageer direct maar rustig

2. Neem je eigendommen op de route naar de dichtstbijzijnde nooduitgang mee (dus niet de
hoofduitgang!)
3. Help eventueel anderen naar buiten en ga naar de verzamelplaats van je gebouw om ruimte
te houden voor de hulpdiensten.

Daarnaast hebben we jullie hulp hard nodig de veiligheid van De Haagse Hogeschool voor ons
allemaal te vergroten door de instructies en instructievideo’s met elkaar te delen door ze
bijvoorbeeld te verwerken in het introductieprogramma, ze te laten zien tijdens het eerste college,
of ze onderdeel te laten uitmaken van de R&O-cyclus. Bedankt alvast voor jullie medewerking.

Know what to do in case the alarm goes off at THUAS

Welcome (back) to The Hague University of Applied Sciences! As usual, a new academic year will
start after the summer; at the same time everything is different. All organisations in the Netherlands
are affected by the Corona pandemic, but for us, as an organization par excellence that brings
together a great many people, they really affect the core of what we do.

Safety is paramount at THUAS. Hence, the ‘standard’ Emergency Response Team (ERT) evacuation
exercise planned in September 2020 will not take place. As a university of applied sciences, we do
not consider it justified to have hundreds to thousands of people come together at assembly areas
at the same time. Because we still want to inform you about what to do in case of an emergency /
the alarm going off, we ask your attention for the following summarized instructions and short
instructional videos per location:

1. Respond immediately but calmly

2. Take with you your belongings on the route to the nearest emergency exit (not the main
exit!)
 3. Help others out and go to the assembly area of your building to allow for access of the
emergency services.

In addition, we need your help to increase the safety of The Hague University of Applied Sciences for
all of us by sharing the instructions and instruction videos with each other for example by including
the videos in the intro program, showing them during the first lecture, or making them part of the
