Re: Asphalt Batch Plant Installation
Gentlemen,
The Royal Commission (RC) is in receipt of your letter 25272-(08C-C09)-L-B82-011 "Asphalt Batch
Plant Installation".
Whilst the RC is unable to provide a comprehensive list of requirements for the establishment of your
asphalt batch plant, it appreciates your efforts to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of asphalt to the
Project and will assist you in the process.
The RC has prepared an indicative procedure for the setup of the Asphalt Batch Plant:
1. Obtain LAR from the RC Engineering Department - if setup is planned on RIC/RC
boundaries** (Please coordinate with your RC Resident Engineer)
2. Obtain approval from RC for your Design and Calculation
3. Obtain approval from RC for your Method Statement for the Construction
(including but not limited to Temporary Traffic Management Plan)
4. Submit Testing , Commissioning and Maintenance Procedure
5. Submit Operation and Maintenance Manual including Traffic Management Plan
6. RC Environmental Department initial assessment and final approval of plant operation
** in case proposed plant location will be outside RIC/RC boundaries on the private or other entity
ownership - is Contractor responsibility to secure the land usage as per KSA laws.
Please note that above list is indicative and that the completion of the above steps does not
guarantee that this exercise will be successful.
Finally, the RC would like to make clear that this venture will not be accepted as a justification for any
delay or cost increase.
