SCAFFOLD INSPECTION CHECKLIST

01 Certified scaffolders are available and performing erection/ alteration
and dismantling of scaffolding.
02 Competent scaffolding inspector is available to supervise the task.

03 Are personnel using full body safety harness, helmet with chin straps,
heavy duty hand gloves and safety shoes.
04 Scaffolding materials are proprietary make, free from defects/ damages
and used in accordance with its purpose.
05 Standards are placed on hard ground and base plate is provided. Timber
sole plates provided for normal ground.
06 Sole plate is provide below at least two standards; either two adjacent
or two opposite standards.
07 Spacing of standards is with respect to intended purpose/ load as
below:

08 Transom spacing is fits with the thickness of scaffold boards.

09 Ledger/ transom bracings are provided from bottom to top lift.

10 Platform is fully boarded without any gap/hole.

11 Toe guard, mid rail and guard rail provided at all edges.

12 The space between scaffolding and work front (job that is intended to
do) not exceeding 30 cm.
13 Boards are free from cracks, splits, bends, deformity or projected nails
etc.
14 Boards are securely fastened.

15 Overhanging of working platform is between 50mm to 150 mm.

16 Ties are provided at regular intervals, one tie for every 40 m.sq or as
per the design drawing.
17 Below area is barricaded to protect people underneath and to prevent
collision/ hit by vehicle/ equipment etc.

18 Suitable ladder provided to reach working platform and ladder is free


from defects.
19 Ladder is having 1 m overlap from the landing platform.

20 Scaffold tag system is in place and maintained properly.

21 Good quality castor wheel is fitted at the bottom of mobile scaffoldings.

22 Locking mechanism is fitted on castor wheels and working correctly.

23 Mobile scaffolding are not moved whilst people on the working


platform.
24 No electrical cables are routed through scaffoldings and no overhead
hazards present.
25 Scaffoldings are not erected or used near to excavations and trenches.

26 Tools are taken up using guide ropes or secured to hip belt.

27 Weekly inspection of scaffoldings is recorded in scaffold tags.

28 Scaffolding materials are stacked properly and away from vehicle /


equipment movement area.
