PART I:

1. What is artifacts?

A: An artifact is something made or given shape by humans, such as tool or a work of art,
especially an object of archaeological interest.

2. Discuss about the art as a humanistic discipline.

A: The history of art as a human discipline, man`s sign and structures are records because, or
rather in so far as the express ideas separated from, yet realized by, the processes of signaling
and building.

3. Discuss about the humanistic in western civilization.

A: Renaissance Humanists saw no conflict between their study of ancients and Chistianity. The
lack of perceived conflict allowed Early Renaissance artists to combine classical forms, claasical
themes, and Christian Theology freely.

4. Discuss the humanistic and the Filipino personhood / pagkatao.

A: Pagkatao asserts the shared humanness of people while personality is confide to the individual
viewpoint of an outsider observing an “other.” Human relating in Filpino personhood always
aims for the core, the shared self where pagkakaisa is the ultimate goal.

5. Discuss about the Filipino concept of art.

A: The art of the Philippines refers to the works of art that have developed and accumulate in the
Philippines from the beginning of the civilization in the country up to the present era.
Inspirations on the enhancement of Philippine arts in the pre-colonial era were usually the belief
systems of the native people and the natural world.

WHAT IS HUMAN ANITO? Anito refers to ancestor`s spirits, nature spirits, and deitis
(diwata) in the indigenous animistic religions of pre-colonial Philippines. It can also refer to
carved humanoid figures, the taotao, made of wood, stone, or ivory, that represent these spirits.
