- Interpersonal Skills: Improve Self-Confidence, Assertiveness & Public Speaking.

- Thought Process: Develop critical thinking, structuring of thoughts & big-picture

thinking.

- Functional knowledge: Build upon my experience in Operations to improve depth &

width of my understanding of Operations Management.
Objective 1:

To Improve Interpersonal skills particularly Assertiveness, Self-Confidence in Public

Speaking & Communication skills.

Actions:
i. Join Toastmasters Social Club as the ideal forum to improve communication &
Public speaking skills by active participation in their activities.

ii. Take up a POR in a professional club – ManOps: To be involved in strategy,

planning & implementation of numerous activities. This will give me a platform
to apply my learnings from Toastmasters & gradually build confidence &
assertiveness in a group setting.

iii. Become a part of Net-Impact club & be involved in initiatives like Bandhan, this
will give me an alternate channel to network with a group of people, get out of my
comfort zone & contribute towards some non-academic & non-career related
aspects.

Feedback & Measurement:

i. Seek feedback from my study group on their perception of any
change/improvement in my behaviour & inter-personal skills. Since these set of
people will be observing me day in day out via numerous group projects, so any
significant improvement is most likely to be noticed by them. This feedback can
be used my me for pacing my personal development activities.

ii. Seek qualitative inputs from my peers in Man-Ops Club on my progress in

communication & public speaking skills with respect to engaging with the cohort.

iii. Take regular viewpoints from Alums on what perception am I generating in

conversations with them – with respect to parameters of Confidence,
Communication etc

Milestone:
Basis all these inputs from external stakeholders, I will do a thorough introspection at end of
Core-Terms (1-4) to be self-aware about my persisting deficiencies & deciding future course
of actions for the same.
Objective 2:

To improve my thought process by developing Critical Thinking, Big-Picture Thinking &

learning to structure my thoughts.

Actions:
i. To become a part of Consulting Club and learn to solve case-based problems.
Being a part of this community will help me develop methods of breaking down
an ambiguous problem into sub-blocks & approach solutions from diverse
perspectives. Over a period, it will help me in critically analysing any problem &
approaching it in a structured manner.

ii. I will form informal case-groups with my peers with whom I would be able to
discuss, learn & solve these case-based problems outside the purview of the club
initiatives. This will give me a platform to not only apply but also try different
methods & approaches to develop core competency of Problem Solving, Critical
Thinking & Structured thought process.

iii. To attend various speaker sessions & alum interactions to be able to understand
big picture of their roles & industries.

iv. Similar to informal case groups, I will also rely on my peer group to be able to
pick up their insights and perspectives on their respective background industries.

Feedback & Measurement:

i. Seek qualitative inputs from my informal case groups & consulting club peers
to check their perception on my Critical thinking & Problem-Solving Skills.

ii. Also, to check feedback from mentors, alum interactions on my progress & areas
of improvement.

Milestone:
Basis feedback from mentors, alums & peer group, I will realign my action plan around Term
4 on further areas of improvement, if any.
Objective 3:

To build upon my experience in Operations & improve depth & breadth of domain
knowledge in Operations Management.

Action:
i. To become a part of Operations related Professional clubs – ManOps & REC, so
that it gives me an opportunity to extend my learnings to outside the classroom.

ii. To be involved in various L&D activities planned by SEAL (Shadow Alum,

Resume Reviews, Speaker Sessions) to gradually become future fit for possible
roles in Operations.

iii. To interact with diverse set of Alums based in Operation, General Management
Roles to get an understanding of required skill sets, industry trends etc.

iv. To attend leadership & industry specific Speaker Sessions to develop a macro-
level understanding of industries.

v. To focus on domain specific core subjects & also decide my electives accordingly
to widen my domain knowledge.

Feedback & Measurement:

i. Reach out to Alums based in concerned domain & seek their feedback on
adequateness of my knowledge & preparation & identify further areas of
improvement.

ii. Check with the faculties from concerned domain to have an informal discussion
on my progress regarding the depth & width of domain expertise.

iii. Learn from my peer group interested in the same domains & seek their inputs on
domain related sub-topics.

Milestone:
Basis inputs from faculties, alums & peer group, I will get a fair understanding of my hold on
the domain specific course concepts & applications in the real world. I will be able to use the
same as a guiding principle to align my preparations accordingly.
