The Gift of Magi

Best Character:
In this story my favorite character was of James
Dillingham Young short for ‘Jim’.
I really liked his character of him because he
sacrificed the watch that heritage of his family, it
had belonged to his father and his father before
him. Jim sold this family heirloom to something
really special for his wife, whom he loved very
much. He wanted to express his love for her
through a gift. As Christmas was right around the
corner so he sold his watch and brought his wife a
very special kind of combs. In this way Jim showed
his love by selling the most precious thing for the
gift of her love.

Character derivation:
Let’s suppose that I was Jim then what I would do is
since I had no money to buy my wife something as a
gift, then I would talk to her about the financial
situation that I don’t have money right now to buy
you some gift but as soon as I arrange some money,
I will buy her whatever she wants. Or I will buy her a
gift when I can easily afford.
If Jim and Della talked about their financial situation
beyond this difficult time it would not have
happened; where Della bought a chain by selling
her hair and he sold his watch to get Della's hair
camps.
