REGION’S SOLIDARITY DAY

Dear Fellow Members,
From the committee we renew our appeal to all members of staying safe during these difficult times.

The end of this unusual year – which changed the lives of many of us in a radical way – is close.
From the Western Hemisphere Regional Committee we propose you to finish this period in the
Scout style, considering that there will be numerous neighbours with smaller chances than ever to
spend Christmas and Year’s Eve with their basic needs fulfilled.

On this opportunity, we call you to

1) Carry out close actions with the elderly and/or retired (phone calls, sending cards, sending
Christmas supplies, for example) to make them feel accompanied, or
2) Carry out actions of goodwill in children's shelters or orphanages (toys, educational books, non-
perishable food, for example) to make them feel cared

Considering the present sanitary situation, we believe that most of the organizations and members
can carry out this kind of activity in several ways and without restricting themselves to the
proposed actions BUT ALWAYS respecting the use of masks/gloves, the social distancing and the
hygiene measures.

We invite all Organizations and members to carry out this action on

DÍA DE ACCIONES CONCRETAS DE LA REGION

Estimados Hermanos,

Desde el comité pedimos a todos los miembros que se mantengan seguros durante estos tiempos difíciles.

El final de este año inusual, que cambió la vida de muchos de nosotros de manera radical, está
cerca. Desde el Comité Regional del Hemisferio Occidental les proponemos terminar este período al
estilo Scout, considerando que habrá muchos prójimos con mayores posibilidades que nunca de
pasar la Navidad y el Año Nuevo con sus necesidades básicas insatisfechas.

En esta oportunidad, te llamamos a

1) Realizar acciones cercanas con personas mayores y / o jubilados (llamadas telefónicas, envío
de tarjetas, envío de suministros navideños, por ejemplo) para que se sientan acompañados, o

2) Realizar acciones de buena voluntad en refugios infantiles u orfanatos (donación de juguetes,

libros educativos, alimentos no perecederos, por ejemplo) para que se sientan cuidados.

Considerando la situación sanitaria actual, creemos que la mayoría de las organizaciones y miembros
pueden realizar este tipo de actividad de varias formas y sin limitarse a las acciones propuestas,
PERO SIEMPRE respetando el uso de mascarillas / guantes, el distanciamiento social y las
medidas de higiene.

Invitamos a todas las Organizaciones y miembros a realizar esta acción el
