What is tempareture?
Tempareture is ameasurment of the degree of the head of the body or sbstance as
measurment by athermometer.

What is normal tempareture?


Normal tempareture is abalence b/w heat produce and heat loss.
Other name of the normal tempareture is euthermia.

They have two important elements of thermometer:


 1=atemperature sensor
 some means of converting this change into a numerical valve
heat production:
 muscles
 glands
 oxidation of food
heat loss
 repiration
 perspiration
 excretion
factors affecting temperature
 exercice
 illness
 age
 time of day
 medications
 infecction
 emotion
 hydration
 clothing
purpose for taking temperature:
 to aid in dertermining the patient’s condition
 to assist in diagnosis of malaria
 to recongnize any veriation from the normal and significcation
time taking temperature:
 on admission
 evry four hours of firs 48 hours post operative
 immediately after child has had fits or convulsian
 any time if patient is seriously ill
types of thermometers:
 lotion thermometer
 wall thermometer
 electric thermometer
 clinical thermometer
 medical thermometer is also called clinical thermometer
 clinical thermometer: is used for measuring human or animal body temperature.
 Basal thermometer: is athermometer used to take the body temperature
Temperature rates:
 Oral temperature 37C
 Rectal temperature 37.5C
 Axilla site 36.5C
Tympanic route 36.8-37.9C
Some other of terminology
 Pyrexia:fever temperature above the normal vaiue
 Hyper pyrexia: excessively high temperature above 40C
 Hypothermia: temperature below 34.4C
 Aferbrile: with out
