11. The reason for the project revision  The project titled "Excavation of Kumar
0 must be explained logically River" was approved by ECNEC on
10/11/2018. In order to implement the
physical works of the project in DPM
method, the contract was executed on
04-02-2018 AD after giving work order
to Dockyard Road and Engineering
Works Ltd. of Bangladesh Navy on 10-
01-2017 AD. The contract value of the
physical works of the project is Rs.
According to the agreement, the
implementation of the project at the field
level was started from 11-02-2018 AD. It
is to be noted that after the approval of
the project, there has been a delay of
about 1 year and 3 months to start the
work in DPM system at the field level.
Moreover, although the project was
approved on 10.11.2018, the
implementation period has been seen to
start from 01 July 2018, so much so that
more than 4 months have been included
in the implementation period. Excavator
mobilization for river / canal re-
excavation work in Faridpur city area
was started by the excavator by
February / 18 after the agreement.
Dredging work was also started by 2
dredgers (1 18 '' and 1 20 ") from
November 2016. However, due to early
rains in 2016, the progress of river re-
excavation work by excavators has been
hampered. It was not possible to take it
to the desired level. In addition,
numerous illegal installations on both
the banks of the river / canal have
hampered the progress of the work due
to dredged material management
problems in the river dredging work and
the progress of the work could not be
taken to the desired level. Except for the
increase, it is reported to be 31.12.2020
AD. But since last March, 2020, due to
the outbreak of Bangladesh Global
Epidemic Corona Virus, the government
has announced lockdown and ban on
public movement in various places and
all mining projects in the project area.
They left and went to their respective
homes, so it was not possible to achieve
the desired target even during the time
described in the project . As at least 2
more dry seasons are required to carry
out the remaining physical works under
the project, a proposal has been sent to
describe the period till June, 2022 AD.
 Under the approved DPP project,
dredging works ranging from 16.80 km
to 61.010 km and 54.510 km are
available in Kumar river chain. However,
after the approval of the project, BIWTA
has carried out dredging work on the
chain of Kumar River from 50.98 km to
61.010 km and 20.033 km. As a result,
the revised length of Kumar River
dredging in the project described is
34.46 km.

12. The cumulative cost of the project and 6844.78 lakh Taka (45%) (till 09.08.2020
0 the actual progress (%) must be paid (up AD)
to date) (in lakhs).
