Background and Experience

Please briefly present the partner organisation

Dominican Eco-Technology Association (DETA) is a non govermental association founded in 2018.

Our main goal is to connect ecology with technology and to educate people how they can use
technology in our daily life and to do it sustainable. We believe that technology and ecology are
connected and that we should use technology in order to preserve ecology.

We have different target groups but we are mostly focused on work with young people from 18 to 30
years old, especially the ones who are NEET. We are also connected with local school in Boca Chica,
where we are cooperating with teachers from the school and educating students.

Even though we are actively working with youth on a local level during the last 2 years, we don’t
have any experience in international youth work. One of our goals for 2020 is to change that and to
learn about good practices from other countries, but also to share our own experience. We believe that
by learning and improving skills of our youth workers, we will be able to raise our local youth work
on higher level. Since we are not a Erasmus+ Programme country, we would like to participate in
Capacity Building Activities. We are not experienced ngo, but we will give our best to fully
participate and contribute to the quality of the projects.

What are the activities and experience of the organisation in the areas relevant for this application?

As we already mentioned in the previous question, we are not experienced in the international
youthwork, but we are eager to change this.

Some of the local activities that we organized or we are organizing regularly are :
- Workshops about technology and ecology in local school, on a monthly basis
- Educational seminars about technology with teachers from local school
- Treasure hunt with the focus on ecology, raising awareness about environment protection
- Workshops about the media and digital literacy

We are looking forward to improve our experience connected with the topic of this project and to
make a real difference for youth in Dominican Republic, the change that is very necessary at the
moment.

What are the skills and expertise of key staff/persons involved in this application on the competences
and previous experience that they will bring to the project?

Republic and for ensuring quality implementation of projects on local and international level.
