Facing the Continuing Challenge of Gender Inequality and Inequity: A Reflection Paper

Preface explains the extreme dismissal of gender awareness and development guided by the
Gender Equity Index (GEI) relatively explains the ignorance and inconsiderable lack of social services
and open discussions of how gender diversity should be treated. With the utmost effort of the
society to understand the situation of those would seek understanding and deeper intentional
communication further intensifies the call for different reforms and social dissents. Relatively, the
matter of communication between those who understand the diverse background of gender and the
anchored factors should correlatively develop mutual stance of the deep and extreme concept of
gender and how people should perceive their situation.

Knocking the ignorance of the close-eyed people means directly attacking their
contradiction. However, their significant push for their reform should morally condescend the
contradictions and not just counter appeal of how they should be treated. The matter of developing
awareness with others should not result to clout-contradictions but rather result to discussion-after-
discussion campaign of what they had formulated of how to handle situations concerning gender
diversity. Knowledge on concepts should not be hindrances and deep factor on determining their
worth however, impulse on aggressive immoral discussions bridging into arguments. The importance
of killing the air of ignorance exposes on why Gender Equity Index is dependent on the
understanding of the general public and not focal on the concerned individual, organizations,
coalitions, and legal-account managers. The issue of awareness and negligence itself is an everyone-
topic.

Considering that gender diversity promotes the prominence of understanding and balancing
opinions of how gender affects one’s life, the importance of perceiving gender as an overall topic
determines the hardcore challenges and advantages of being gender-diverse and open to diverse
population of colleagues and acquaintances. Three important stationers explain the advantages of
embracing diversity and diminishing gender-bias and ignorance. One of the main goals of developing
gender awareness is developing camaraderie and connectivity with each other that manages the
mutual benefit of the parties. By developing a gender-safe space would benefit both the persons
involved. Secondly, gender equality and equity benefit men as well. Despite what many people
assume, gender equality is not strictly limited to creating advantages for women. "Gender equality"
means simply that every employee has access to the same benefits, which is why equality is an
"everyone" issue. To demonstrate equality for all, some companies, for instance, are now giving men
the same parental benefits women receive when they have children, such as child care and parental
leave. Lastly, gender fluidity serves as a clear example of the benefits of developing gender-safe
space. "Gender equality" also means being inclusive of trans and gender-fluid employees.
Companies can do this by reexamining their policies and seeing if those policies also benefit these
employees.

For a clear comparison of how prominent gender equality and equity movements have risen
in the country, western societies display correlative status and data of how gender equality and
women empowerment movement changed and developed throughout the countries with different
traditions, religions, and socio-political situations.
Notable information such as the rise of women empowerment were also driven by men
exposes the extreme social influence of not just gaining the likes of women but also those who
tender the lives of women. Men have always played critical roles in the women’s movement. From
John Stuart Mill to Fredrick Douglass, male allies have long supported the struggle for gender
equality. And today there are plenty of men who are proud feminists – just ask Andy Murray, who
hired and championed a female coach, Amélie Mauresmo; or Ryan Gosling, who has become
something of a feminist icon. But there is still a long way to go, and we’ll only get there by drawing
more men into the conversation. Despite all the progress made, men still dominate positions of
power. And, as a string of recent harassment scandals has shown, the behavior of some men has had
profound effects on women’s careers, their success and their lives. The good news, as we mark
International Women’s Day, is that many men are acknowledging the importance of playing their
part to make gender equality a reality.

With the hardships fought to sustain the gender inequality and inequity brought upon by the
immoral conception, assessments and deliberations further extends the anchored issues on the
social spectrum. Hight times of dissent cancels out the superiority and promotes equality. Driven by
experiences, women have exposed, in various ways, the everyday nature of gender-based violence,
harassment and discrimination. Drawing from the origins of the term Me Too, the movement has
also drawn attention to other forms of structural inequality, involving race and class, and the
persistence of multiple discrimination. Women empowerment and movements impact varied
between one country to the next; in some, it has been minimal, in others, massive. Politics, the arts,
businesses and NGOs were upended. Increasingly, women who spoke out weren't automatically met
with disbelief, with some perpetrators even having been held to account.

Within the global context, progressive policies on gender equality are now being tested and
hampered by a hostile political climate. Women's bodies are being re-politicized in countries where
the debate over women's reproductive rights and bodily autonomy should have been concluded
decades ago. We are witnessing a return to aggressive nationalism and social regression and a
systematic undermining of universal human rights, where women and minorities are usually the first
in the firing line. As we take stock of women empowerment movement and explore the potential for
improvement, there is an urgent need to ground it firmly in the continued battle for the protection
and promotion of human rights.

Social and cultural changes never come about without a struggle. Women empowerment
demands that we keep asking painful and provocative questions because gender inequality, which
intersects with other injustices, is one of the most persistent evils of our times. Only by maintaining
an active dialogue and by pushing for transformative change, will we be able to move forward
toward a more egalitarian society.
