1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Project Description

The SWGF development project consists on the development of three (03) gas fields located in south
west of Algeria (HBH&RM, HTJ&HTJW et TNK&TNKW). The development of these fields has been
divided into several Lots (projects) as follow:

- Lot-1: Detail Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the installation of gathering network
for each field and surface installation of 51 wells (24 at HBH&RM, 11 at HTJ&HTJW and 16 at
TNK&TNKW).
- Lot-2: Detail Engineering, Procurement and Construction of three (03) central processing facilities
at HBH&RM, HTJ&HTJW and TNK&TNKW.
- Lot-3: Detail Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the export pipelines systems for the
transportation of treated gas from Processing Plants to the corresponding tie in points.
- Lot-4: EPC Infrastructure (Permanent Camp, Access Roads, Air strip and Security Camp).

The scope of work of EPs Contractor is to perform the detail engineering and procurement services up
to TBE of all pipes, equipment and instruments related to the Lot-1 & Lot-3 projects.

The gathering network (Lot1) mainly consists of:

o Well surface installation of 51 wells including Wellhead Control Panel

o Flow lines,
o Manifolds and Trunk-lines.
o Fix and mobile Pigging stations (Launchers and Receivers)
o Block Valves Stations
o Chemical Injection packages

The Export system (Lot3) consists to:

o Export Pipelines
o Block Valves Stations
o Pig Launchers & Receivers
o Tie in Points

1.2 Project Location

- Tinerkouk Fields:
The Tinerkouk perimeter (TNK&TNKW) covers an area of 282.80 km2 and located in the northern
part of the Gourara Basin in the Algerian Sahara Desert. It occupies the western approaches of the
M’Zab Plateau, west and south fringes of the southern Tademait Plateau and eastern approaches
of the Saoura River.

The Tinerkouk perimeter is approximately 300 Km south west of Hassi R'Mel field and
approximately 160 Km northwest of the Krechba field and located in three Wilayas: Adrar, El
Bayadh and Bechar.

- Hassi BaHamou and Reg Mouaded Fields

The Hassi Bahamou (HBH) and Reg Mouaded (RM) gas fields (HBH exploration permit) lies in the
Sahara Desert of central Algeria, some 830 km south of the capital Algiers, 260 km south-southwest
of the Hassi R`Mel and 450 km west-southwest of the Hassi Messaoud operations base.

Reg Mouaded (RM) field is located at approximately 70 Km far from Hassi Bahamou (HBH) field.

- Hassi Tidjerane Fields

The HASSI-TIDJERANE (HTJ&HTJW) covers an area of 611.17 km2 and is approximately 300 Km
south west of Hassi R'Mel field and 160 Km northwest of the Krechba field. It is located in three
Wilayas: Adrar, El Bayadh and Bechar.

The location of the above three Fields (TNK&TNKW, HTJ&HTJW and HBH&RM) is shown in the
figure 01.

1.3 Definitions

CA : Contracting Authorities

EPs Contractor : The Party which carries out all or part of design, Detailed engineering and
Procurement services up to TBE. Excluding the procurement and construction
Activities related to the Lot-1 & Lot-3 projects

PC Contractor : Party which carries out the Update of part of Detailed engineering for Construction,
procurement, construction, commissioning and Start-up. PC Contractor includes
its approved Manufacturers, Suppliers, and Subcontractors

1.4 Scope
This specification covers the minimum requirements for lettering and marking of equipment, piping,
steel structures, tanks, etc., to be constructed in South West Gas Fields, HASSI BAHAMOU & REG
MOUADED FIELD (HBH & RM), HASSI TIDJERANE FIELD (HTJ & HTJW) AND TINERKOUK FIELD
(TNK & TNKW), Project in Algeria.

3 COLOUR CODING AND MARKING

3.1 Piping
Colour indication for piping shall be as follows:
3.1.1 For uninsulated piping, finish coat colour code, fluid service name and flow direction ring shall be
applied in accordance with FIG. 1. While for insulated piping, colour band, fluid service name and flow
direction ring shall be applied in accordance with FIG. 2.
3.1.2 Finish coat colour codes for uninsulated and finish colour band for insulated piping shall be referred to
Table - 3: Colour Schedule of S-0100-13A0-001 (General Specification for Painting).
3.1.3 The flow direction for uninsulated and insulated pipes shall be indicated by a ring located after the fluid
service name as shown in FIG. 1 and 2. Flow direction ring shall have 40 mm width and of the same
colour as the finish coat colour and/or colour band of the piping.
3.1.4 The fluid service name shall be stencilled in a white background as shown in FIG. 1 and 2. The ratio
of height and width of fluid service name shall be decided by the Owner/PC Contractor with
consideration given to the proportions of the letters.
3.1.5 The colour code, fluid service name and flow direction ring for uninsulated and insulated piping shall
be identified as follows:
(1) Near the operating point on the loading / unloading piping in accordance with FIG. 3 and piping
connection point on the utility supply piping lines.
(2) Inlet and outlet pipes of equipment.
(3) The marking shall be done every 50 meters from the straight piping.
(4) The marking shall be done at 1 meter from a tee or elbow and also at 1 meter upstream or
downstream of a valve.
3.1.6 Actual location of colour code, fluid service name and flow direction ring such as topside or underside
of horizontal position and vertical position on piping shall be determined at site in consideration of
visibility to operator and shall be finalized jointly with Owner representative.
3.1.7 Detail dimension of colour code, fluid service name and flow direction ring shall be in accordance with
FIG. 1 and 2.

3.2 Equipment
3.2.1 The item number of the equipment shall be clearly indicated on the surface of each equipment in
accordance with FIG. 4.
The item number of equipment shall be marked with black (RAL 9005).
3.2.2 Lettering procedure and size of letters for heat exchangers, column, tower, drum, AFC, furnace, etc.
shall be as follows:
(1) Column or Tower

The distances B and C will be decided on site by the Subcontractor in charge of painting on the basis
of the size of the characters and by agreement with the parties concerned.
3.2.3 Lettering size for pumps shall be either 30 mm or 50 mm depending on the space allocated and should
be stenciled on the base skid of pump.
3.2.4 Regarding the location of the lettering, FIG. 4 shall be followed but detailed instructions will be fixed at
the field. The number of lettering shall be one (1) per equipment.
3.2.5 In case of lettering the equipment item number on the corrugated jacket surface, lettering shall be
marked on the flat aluminum plate by screw to the insulation jacketing.
3.2.6 For the concrete foundation surface or fireproofed surface, one or more coats of epoxy white paint
shall be applied as background of lettering.

3.3 Letter Style

Letter style shall be in accordance with FIG. 7.
The ratio of height and width of the letters shall be decided by the PC Contractor with consideration
given to the proportions of the letters.

3.4 Paint Materials and System

3.4.1 Paint materials for lettering and marking for piping, equipment, etc. shall be in accordance with
S-0100-13A0-001 General Specification for Painting.
3.4.2 Paint system for concrete surfaces shall be as follows:
Surface Preparation: Remove contamination from surface by brush or equivalent
Primer Coat: Concrete Sealer (Epoxy)
Top Coat: Epoxy Finish

Note: Application method and dry film thickness of each coat shall be in accordance with paint
manufacturer’s recommendation.

3.5 Finish Coat Colour

Finish coat colour for piping, equipment, etc. shall be referred to Table – 3: Color Schedule of :
- General Specification for Painting S-0100-13A0-001.
