Lesson Plan: Science Grade 7

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
a. differentiate plant and animal cells according to the presence and absence
of certain organelles;
b. explain why the cell is the basic structural and functional unit of all
organisms.

B. Motivation
 The students will be given a video presentation about how organs
are formed.
C. Analysis
 The students will be asked the following question:
1. What have you observed from the video shown?
2. What do you think makes up an organ?
D. Abstraction
 The students will be shown a video presentation about the cell.
 The teacher will also give a lecturette about the cell, its organelles
and the functions of each organelle through a PowerPoint
presentation.
E. Application
 The students will be asked to do the following task:
1. In a 1 whole sheet of paper, compare and contrast the animal
and plant cell using a Venn diagram.
IV. Evaluation
 In a ½ sheet of paper the students will be asked to answer the
following questions:
1. What organelles are found in animal cells but not in plant cells?
2. Explain why cell is the basic structure in all living organisms.

V. Agreement/ Assignment
 The students will be asked to research about bacteria and write it
down in their assignment notebooks.
