and application of filter bags, FLSmidth has become an industry
leader in emission control. Through state-of-the-art manufacturing
equipment and outstanding fabrication techniques, we have been
helping businesses just like yours achieve the highest possible
reduction of harmful emissions.
It all began in early 2000, when FLSmidth began manufacturing
filter bags from our world-class facility in Evans, Georgia, USA,
under the name AFT (Advanced Filtration Technologies). Since
then, increased global demand has afforded us the opportunity
to build another state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Chennai,
India, serving Asia and the Middle East.
The range of products includes AFT® filter bags, cartridges,
cages, installation and technical services, and other baghouse
accessories, all of which continue to exceed customers’ perfor-
mance expectations.

Unsurpassed filter media Membrane

We manufacture a wide range of filter bag types for all baghouse
original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and styles including
pulse jet, reverse air and shaker. Each filter is designed for optimal
performance in various environments. Choose from:
■■ AFTm™ ePTFE membrane filter bags – for increased throughput,
lowest differential pressure and longer bag life
■■ AFT® fiberglass filter bags – best performance for applications
up to 500°F (260°C)
■■ AFT® TL PPS trilobal filter bags – for improved acid resistance
over Aramid at higher temperatures, with a temperature limit
In addition to the various filter bag materials we offer, a wide
range of woven and felt filter media with ePTFE membrane is
also available. The membrane lamination serves as a primary filter
surface, which allows air to pass through while the fine particulate
is collected. The membrane also allows for excellent dust release
and particle retention, which keeps the filter bags as clean as
possible for longer life and saves you money in the long run.

Pleated filters and cartridges
When compared to a standard bag, a pleated filter provides
2–3 times additional cloth area. This is particularly useful in
dust collectors which have been pushed to their limits due
to increased production demands. Properly applied, pleated
filters will reduce pressure drop, increase collection efficiency,
extend filter life, and lower pulse air consumption.

FLSmidth offers cartridges and pleated filters made of cellulose,

synthetic blends, Aramid, PPS and spun bond polyester with
special coatings, finishes or ePTFE membrane. These can be
constructed using galvanized or stainless components, designed
to meet any unique conditions or temperature requirements

SmartPulse Controller EVO II®
The easy-to-install, smart fabric filter
controller optimises your fabric filter
processes by adjusting differential pressure
(dP) according to actual dust loads from
your plant. Our add-on fabric filter controller
technology saves costs by increasing the
fabric filter’s bag life, reducing the use of
fans and compressed air, as well as costly
downtime.

saving you operational and maintenance

OptiSize™ upgrade
Upgrading to OptiSize™ gives your fabric
filter increased capacity to boost your
production. It also reduces pressure loss
on your fabric filter, leading to less wear
and tear over time.
Such an upgrade increases the fan power
and raises your filtration area by 15 percent,
which significantly lowers investment costs
compared with extending your existing
fabric filter.
Furthermore, you’ll be able to reuse your
cleaning system, dust extraction system
and other auxiliaries on the fabric filter.

 Accessories
FLSmidth’s wide range of accessories for refurbishing and improving
air pollution control equipment have all been designed to meet or exceed
OEM specifications, which increases dependability and reduces costly downtime.

Leak detector powder

Lite-Dust™ is a fluorescent powder that
detects leaks from the fabric filter after
a bag change-out. This ensures that your
system is leak-free and properly functioning
at any time throughout the life of the bags.
The powder is introduced into the system
with the fan running at a rate of 1 lb. per
1000 ft² (0.45 kg per 93 m²) of cloth area.

Leak detector
flashlight and lamp
Our UV flashlight or lamp can quickly and
easily detect broken bags after a change-
out. The UV cordless flashlight kit includes
120V or 220V charger, 12 V DC for portable
charging, plastic carrying/storage case and
UV enhancing glasses. The UV lamp kit
includes a corded UV lamp, UV absorbing
glasses, and plastic carrying/storage case.
UV lamp kits are available in 120V/60Hz
(American) and 230V/50Hz (European).

Diaphragm valve and solenoid repair kits
Our diaphragm repair kits use premium diaphragm material for
maximum performance, and are stocked to fit all standard pulse
valves from the leading manufacturers. We will ship to you from our
inventory as quickly as we can to minimise any costly downtime.
Repair kits fit: ASCO®, Autel®, Goyen®, Mecair®, Tae-Ha™, Trimec®
and Turbo® pulse valves.
Precoat
Quick-Start™ precoat is a chemically inert
light density powder that is injected into the
fabric filter. This establishes uniform porous
dust cake on the filter bags, which allows
for maximum, even air flow and enhanced
operational efficiency. The amount of
Quick-Start™ used should be a minimum
of 0.05 lbs. per ft² (0.23 kg per m²) of
filter bag cloth area.
Clamps
Dust leakage and bag failure can
often be attributed to faulty clamps.
We offer different clamp styles for
different applications – worm gear,
quick-release, t-bolt, or spring latch
– and with help from our technical
specialists, you can find the perfect
clamp style for your specific needs.

Broken bag detectors

Our broken bag detectors help you and your business monitor
fugitive emissions during operation, which is essential for optimum
process control and meeting EPA regulations. Other benefits of
these detectors include improved differential pressure and airflow
control, preventing particulate emissions, reducing maintenance
costs and energy use, protecting downstream equipment, and
preventing unforeseen downtime.

Our variety of door seals and gaskets keep
outside air from leaking into your fabric filter,
which prevents fugitive emissions, reduction
