DEAR DEAN MAM, VSLLS

SUBJECT: PAYMENT OF SECOND YEAR COLLEGE FEE

I Dinseh chand Kaushik , father of Amulya Kaushik, who studies in BALLB course of
Vivekananda school of law and legal studies ( enrolment number -11117703819) am
writing this letter concerning fee issues and the recent deadline of 31 August 2020
which has been issued.

There are certain broad issues which I see with the recent issuance of the deadline
of fee payment.

VERY SHORT NOTICE

The recent deadline of 31 August 2020 not only comes on short notice but also
comes abruptly giving very little time to the parents for the payment of such a hefty
amount.  Furthermore, there is no formal notification which has been issued
regarding this deadline.  And the same has been communicated only through a
verbal and written text messages in meeting and class official group respectively.

AMBIGUITY IN FEE BREAKUP

There is an ambiguity in fee breakup. The breakup consists of TUITION FEE,

UNIVERSITY CHARGE ( Rs 12000 ), STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE.  I fail to
understand as to for what university charge is for as I already paid rs 40000 as
university affiliation fee for five years in the first semester and as far as activity fee is
concerned I am not able to understand since all the activities that will be happening
will be online and at home which will indeed not require any college infrastructure, so
why are those charges also included?

PANDEMIC CRISIS

As we all know right now the whole country is going through a tough time with
lingering COVID19 crisis, especially in the economic sector because of this crisis,
people have not only lost their jobs but have also faced a tremendous amount of
financial difficulties, I being, Businessman knows how dull the market conditions are
right now and how difficult it is getting for people to make ends meet. And fee hike in
such a situation is not only saddening but will exacerbate financial difficulties for
some.

UGC LETTER AND NOTIFICATIONS

There is a letter of UGC which practically urges all the colleges not to ask for one
time. Payment of fee from students in such crisis and at the same time also asks
them to show, consideration regarding each student’s family financial difficulties.

In the light of the above mention circumstances, I ardently request you to extend the
deadline of fee payment to much reasonable time. Moreover, I would also like to
suggest the adoption of taking the fee in instalments this semester considering the
difficulties. I hope you will understand the gravity of the matter and will take action
accordingly.

With regards
Dinesh Chand Kaushik
